  1. I want to say I'm disgusted, but really I'm just impressed. I hope I get to the point in life where I can give literally zero fucks like that http://chicago.barstoolsports.com/files/2014/09/17.jpg http://chicago.barstoolsports.com/files/2014/09/212.jpg
  2. Well, they can expect better years from Prince Fielder and Shin Soo Choo next year. Andrus is better than he showed too. They should also get some more production from young guys like Profar and Odor next year. On the pitching side of things Holland, Harrison, and Perez have combined to throw just 75.2 IP this year. They should be better there too. That gets them back to below-average. I don't know how they're going to right the ship past that though. Yeah, they need some bounce backs + health and then after that probably throw more money at the team if they want to compete and pick up some FA or take back a big contract or 2 in trades.
  3. I agree, shut them down. What's camp buss, btw?
  4. The Brewers director of scouting, Bruce Seid, died suddenly yesterday at the age of 53.
  5. Since I have about 30 min to kill before a conference call I'll do it, I rounded to the nearest million and included current contracts Hamilton- $61 million Beckett- $116 Reyes- $71 Fielder- $105 Liriano- $20 Garza- $42 J.Upton- $38 Price- $34 Heyward- $10 Hellickson- $5 Goldschmidt- $2 Myers- $500k Bogaerts- $500k Bryant-
  6. Baez laid off of two closeish pitches again there. I hope we are on the verge of a Fonsian hot streak out of him.
  7. I generally agree. Starting to look like controlled aggressiveness instead of Olting

  9. if he reached matt stairs type production at the plate he'd basically be an all star Yeah, if he reached Matt Stairs type production at 3B he'd be one of the top 3B in the league. Stairs' 162 game average was .262/.356/.477 with 23 HR and 25 2B. He also only had a career k% of 18%.
  10. Swisher just had surgery on both his knees. Idk if he can play any position other than 1B/DH at this point
  11. I just find it hard to figure out a scenario where we are getting back a SP that's worth it for Valbuena. I know WAR isn't the only factor or end all, but look at the SP between 2.5-3 fWAR this year that you'd want (Tyson Ross, Duffy, Tehran, Kennedy, Eovaldi, Porcell) and I doubt a team is trading any of those players for Valbuena. Even look at the guys under 2.5 fWAR that are intriguing (Smyly, Ventura, Alex Wood, Odorizzi, Alvarez, Wheeler) and I doubt teams are trading that pitcher straight up for Valbuena. I think he has more value to us by keeping him than trading him. Sure if Philadelphia requires he be a second or 3rd piece in a Hamels trade I'd include him, but I don't think him alone is bringing back anything special or what his value should bring.
  12. I see little reason to trade Valbuena, he provides good insurance if one of the prospects busts and/or there's an injury and he's an excellent bench player if they all end up turning out.
  13. I know he's not on the 40-man but is there any chance Rafael Lopez gets called up? Wouldn't mind getting a look at him as a potential back up next year. He's put up good bb% through his career in the minors.
  14. 10 team, .5 PPR league. 3 keeper league (kept Rodgers, Charles and Jeffery) I think I did okay. QB- Rodgers, R. Wilson RB- Charles, Bush, C. Johnson, B. Tate, D. Williams WR- Jeffery, Harvin, Kendall Wright, S. Watkins, Mike Evans TE- Bennett K- Bailey D/ST- Detriot (going to play weekly match ups)
  15. I don't know if I'm a huge fan of Zunino, doesn't really walk a lot or hit for average. Looks like he will have to hit for a lot of power to carry much value offensively. Or am I missing something? I know he's still young and has the high pick/pedigree
  16. What about Miguel Montero as a target? He's 31, signed through 2017 and owed $40 million over the next 3 years. It's Towers, so who knows what his mindset will be. Maybe he'd be happy to clear his contract and take back a few mid level prospects. He's good for mid-teens HR, good patience ~10% bb% and a mid .700 OPS. Also I still would have interest in Randall Delgado as well.
  17. This will be a fun thread to revisit, for better or worse, in a couple years
  18. Instead of the pics the shirt should just be like the actual shirt except the font would have to be like half the size I'm in
  19. Can we get some NSBB "Chicago Dongs" tshirts made up with the NWA Cubs pic under it? I'm in for $30
  20. Assuming he's counting this game... http://i.imgur.com/FWd2cBk.png Math is off I think. I don't see 10 wins. And they lost the previous three before i cut the graphic off Yeah I think he's not quite right. But the point that the pitching has been good is right, they have a team ERA of 3.02 over the last 30 days and a 3.30 ERA in the 2nd half. That's good for 5th best ERA over the 30 day stretch and 11th in the 2nd half in all of MLB. If we could get the pitching to perform at the 11-15th best ERA next year with this offense, I like our chances.
  21. My idiot Brewer fan friends still think Segura is better than Castro, you know, when you factor in the leadership, laziness, and lack of concentration.
