Happ is legitimately one of the best players in baseball right now. Kipnis, Willy, Bote, Schwarbs are all over 100 wRC+. Rizzo has a 136 wRC+, KB is at 97. Javy is the only one really sucking. But KB needs to be his usual self sooner than later.
Frustrating game. Had it close to won but Javy/Schwarbs/Phegley couldn’t come through with bases loaded and Mills forgot how to pitch for like 7 pitches. Still almost won and made Hader throw almost 40 pitches. Oh well. Win tomorrow idiots
If Almora isn’t gonna play vs a lefty when KB is out and Schwarbs probably is still dealing with that sore knee from the HBP what the hell is he doing on the roster? Call someone up who has a useful tool to deploy. horsefeathers, I’m not even a big fan but get Short up. He might crank some dongs, take a walk and maybe handles lefties well (something we need).
If we make a trade for this year I’m not including Bote unless it’s like a Lindor move and he’s one of the pieces. Certainly am not moving him for a reliever. With the DH he’s an important part of what we’re doing here, trading him for relief help doesn’t interest me. Especially for a guy like Bradley who’s been up and down.
I liked him a lot as a target last offseason/deadline. I’d be in. He also hits lefties better than righties. Career .836 OPS vs them, if we add a bat I want it to be a guy who boosts the lineup vs LHP since that’s where we seem a little short.
Pillar and Workman package from the Red Sox I’ve mentioned. Won’t cost much but covers some holes. Brian Anderson from the Marlins I’d give up real things for if he’s available. Haven’t really dug too deep in to a ton of targets since there’s still ~20 games to the deadline and there’s bound to be some good teams now be sellers because they struggle or bad teams rally and not sell.
