  1. Seems smart, though I’d prefer a Texas site (Houston/Dallas), Phoenix, or Miami along with LA sites/SD to Chicago and NY given the potential bad weather and all the non Cali teams have domes. Doing 2 sites 1 for AL, 1 for NL also would make sense. Especially if one is out East and 1 is out West for TV with expanded playoffs.
  2. Was he even going to pitch this year with the injury? What a terrible trade by the Mets. Will be interesting to see what Stroman gets this offseason, I’d completely stay away unless it’s a 1 year deal. Never been a big fan of his stuff/profile, especially if he’s viewed as TOR type and now has had injuries 2 of the last 3 years.
  3. I mean it’s coming to the point of having to cancel their season or at the least forcing them to play the minor leaguers.
  4. “A” player My bad. Didn't realize that we were still pretending that if "A" player tests positive we can just send them to their room and everyone else is fine. If teams are generally doing the right thing/being cautious and following rules that probably is a protocol that would decently work. The two big spreads we’ve had by the Marlins and Cardinals have been either willingly reckless ignorance or just general ignorance and stupidity about how to act.
  5. If the players got it doing something reckless like going to a casino or whatever nonsense the Cardinals seem to have done I’m fine with canceling/voiding a team. The casino story was a rumor from Jerry Hairston on twitter not realizing it was players going to a drive in concert at an amphitheater a month ago. Still is reckless behavior knowing what’s at stake going to a stupid horsefeathering Nelly drive in concert at a casino/concert venue. Regardless if it was the cause or not, you couldn’t show enough restraint to try and be safe and couldn’t stay away from a horsefeathering Nelly concert ~10 days before the season started and you were in camp? It takes up to 2 weeks for the virus to run its course, they were at the casino/drive in concert on July 12. ST 2.0 was going on then, entirely possible that started the spread. There’s also pictures of Mikolas and another player on July 23rd out in public at a gas station/bait shop without masks, the Cardinals were not following the rules and it’s pretty horsefeathering clear. They need to be punished and held accountable.
  6. Only if you want to set the precedent of voiding any team's season who has a player test positive. If the players got it doing something reckless like going to a casino or whatever nonsense the Cardinals seem to have done I’m fine with canceling/voiding a team.
  7. What an absolute treat, what’s James Shields up to these days?
  8. Make them do it, horsefeathers them. Clearly have been negligent morons.
  9. Isn't that why the taxi squad exists? Why hasn't that already happened? Because one positive test means the rest of the team could be coming up positive within the next few days. The taxi squad is to have a roster available once enough time has passed that you can reasonably assume others guys were not infected, replacing the positive tests. But it can't happen day of a positive test. Literally don’t let anyone on the MLB team play and stay away from the facilities until the right amount of time/negative tests have happened. Bring up all 30 guys who have, presumably, been isolated from the MLB players and staff and don’t have it. Have the team managed through zoom/bring up minor league staff. If your team is going to go out and do irresponsible things like go to casinos and be in public without masks pay the consequences of having to play with all minor leaguers.
  10. Agree but every team should have to hit a benchmark. Especially COVID teams. If they fail to reach say 52-55 games every game short counts as a loss.
  11. They have ~30 guys at their minor league camp who haven’t been around the team, force them to come up and play
  12. Holy horsefeathers he’s gonna kill himself out there. Also, a thread
  13. Or Megill, who they allegedly really like. At this point if you have to DFA Underwood and lose him and he becomes a thing, who cares. Time to shuffle out there to try and find a guy.
  14. Oh well. Chatwood was due for a stinker (at least he’s not walking guys and did get BABIP’d to a degree). 3 of 4 from the Royals was the ideal outcome anyways. Go be up on the irresponsible idiots in St. Louis this weekend.
  15. Schwarbs is off right now. He’s like half committing and either guessing too much/not seeing it/swing is off. Just a little funk but he’s due to go on a heater soon.
  16. Was hoping we’d get to see Steele in a game. But get sending him and Brothers down, probably the right move short of a fake injury Kimbrel IL move.
  17. Carl coming in to close the game for the Mariners
