  1. Yeah there’s more evidence Javy isn’t all that elite of a hitter than he is, at this point. Which makes sense with his profile. It also looks like we are continuing the wildly successful practice over the last ~3 years of letting guys just play through injuries with this KB wrist/hand/elbow/finger thing. At the least I hope he’s sitting going in to or coming out of the off days the next two Thursday's. I like that lineup with where we are at and what we know. Picking nits but I think I’d tweak it to the below vs RHP, but whatever. Get KB/Javy down is most important. VS RHP I think I’d go this with where Javy and KB are at: Rizzo 1B Happ CF Contreras C Schwarber LF KB DH Kipnis 2B/Heyward RF Baez SS Heyward RF/Nico 2B Bote 3B
  2. The flaw I notice is he has a horrible body and is 5”11” 230 already. He’s gonna be a 1B/DH sooner than later, certainly can’t see him lasting at SS/2B being that big and probably will struggle at 3B.
  3. I think it would’ve been more drafting Mahomes and trading him for the corpse of Rivers or Manning with all the money attached to them.
  4. Nice win. Even though the season is over and not salvageable.
  5. Winkler horsefeathering sucks. He’s gotta go.
  6. Kyle Ryan horsefeathering sucks, he’s Duensing 2.0. Good year with nothing special and even bad underlying data. Send him down/IL him and get Steele up.
  7. At least they’re still taking some walks and working counts and some parts of the bullpen seem to be smoothing out. Impressive outing from Tepera there. That’s all I got
  8. Win 2-3 of the next 4 vs these idiots and forgot about how the last 4 days have gone
  9. Given schedule + Chatwood down and bullpen questions/a few spots that are expendable (to put it nicely), as long as Q’s velo is looking fine and he’s not completely wild in SB..... he really needs to be up sooner than later either as opener or pen arm type cover some innings. Him at 35-60 pitches for awhile is better than alternatives of Miller/Adbert/Rea/Underwood.
  10. Miller starts game 2. Adbert took a line drive off his arm in SB, was originally planned to start today. Sounds like he may be able to go Wednesday.
  11. Hopefully Kyle is able to go at least 6, if not a CG. Then they can get a little more creative with the bullpen/who starts in the second game. If Kyle goes 6-7 maybe you just start the game with Wick, Jeffress and Tepera/Ryan and try to get through 5-6 with them as an example. If Game 2 goes off the rails just let Underwood or the call up (Adbert/Miller) just wear it.
  12. They haven’t announced who the extra add is but you’d think it’s either him or Tyson Miller. Even if they don’t start, have a guy to soak innings.
  13. Yeah I’d assume the 29th is the start (Everyone gets the 28th off to travel if needed). There’s no tiebreaker games this year either so that can’t delay it and since the first round is best of 3 and better record team gets home field for all 3 there shouldn’t be off days so 3-4 straight days of games potentially. It could be Wednesday the 30th also. They always leave the Monday blank for any make up games - which is when the Cards might have to make up a game or two against Detroit - and they won’t know about those until the last minute. Giving them Tuesday off also allows for makeup games Monday followed by a tiebreaker game on Tuesday if it involves the same team that plays Monday. They’ll probably wait a while and stagger the series. That way they could schedule series that aren’t likely to require tiebreaker games on Tuesday and ones that might on Wednesday. I swear I read that they aren’t doing tiebreaker games in order to have a more set schedule/avoid having like 5 tiebreaker games. They’re going off H2H, win % in division, etc. to settle tiebreakers. But yeah the 30th could be the start for some extra makeup. Doubt it’s later than that.
  14. Yeah I’d assume the 29th is the start (Everyone gets the 28th off to travel if needed). 15. Jon Berti could be an okay target. Can play some OF, does the contact thing (80% plus in 2 of 3 years), 111 wRC+ vs lefties. He’s 30, can’t see him costing much and would help.
  16. Man, we were due to lose some games. But this is frustrating. Hopefully it’s just a little blip and they’re back at it vs the Cardinals this week looking good. Bryant, Javy and Willy have to figure it out soon. Bullpen is looking better, starters are fine. 3 frustrating games last 3 days though, all coin flippy and Brewers benefited from more luck/got 1-2 bigger hits in all them. Not worried, we’re still the best team in the division and the Brewers suck. Ross needs to clean some things up too.
  17. Willy is a complete mess at the plate now too
  18. That change is pretty nasty. The breaking ball seems okay and if he’s 95-97 Adam may be a decent option. At least like him more than Underwood or Winkler.
  19. Jesus horsefeathering Christ, Happ. Also a complete dog horsefeathers relay.
  20. Maybe spend some time looking at how other teams pitch Arcia, since 2018 he’s killed us and he’s literally Almora level bad vs not Cubs teams
  21. I wonder what it would take to get Springer. He’s a FA in the offseason, .900 OPS vs lefties.
