  1. Giving up an out on purpose with the hottest hitter in the lineup would have been criminal. Dex hit it hard, just for an out. He hit a lazy fly ball just past SS into shallow LF... But I agree, no problem having him swing there
  2. It's horsefeathering ridiculous Lester can't even make a token throw to 1B when a guy has a lead like that
  3. I've been very impressed so far by Georgie at the plate
  4. Bryant got two really good pitches to hit on pitches 2 and 3 this ab
  5. Szczur Bryant has been fine since the first couple of games. Soler has been fine. This probably won't make sense even though in my mind it does, but those guys are hitting .250 or below. And so overall they haven't hit that much to start the season on a whole. ETA: Bryant and Soler, not Matt Without some BABIP luck Bryant is probably closer to a .250-.270 hitter than he is a .300+ hitter
  6. I'm sure the benefit of the basket being there will even out mostly by years end, but that's twice already this season a ball has just gotten into it for a HR against us.
  7. Wtf, Rizzo. That was some awful footwork on that dropped ball
  8. Simple solution http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view4/1556098/gob-bluth-stripper-pants-o.gif
  9. Javy, Soler and Bryant are all Dongin' today
  10. It's ridiculous that netting and/or plexiglass isn't required to at least past the end of the dugout at this point (with no gaps/cracks). I hope this woman is able to sue the Rays/MLB and wins
  11. Tonight was the 2nd start I've seen of Bumgarner's this season and I saw a few spring games as well, his stuff definitely seems not as good as I've seen before. I wonder if all those innings from the past few years are starting to pile up, his FB velo is down nearly 2 MPH this year.
  12. Brewers up 5-0 in Pittsburgh, Braun just hit a 2 run HR that nearly cleared the batters eye in CF
  13. Something really weird would have to happen for Washington not to at least be within a couple games of a WC spot come the deadline, he's not gonna be available. I def hope we target him in FA
  14. I wonder if we will see Contreras come up for a few weeks once we get to about June/July to catch some games in order to keep Montero fresh? There's a stretch of 20 straight games from end of June into the first weekish of July, that wouldn't be a bad time to bring him to start maybe 5 of those games.
  15. That's terrible, I mean yeah the last few years the Lakers probably haven't been able to completely go in a direction they wanted to as an organization but they've had two top 10 lotto picks (including #2 overall) and a likely top 3 pick this year by letting Kobe remain the alpha dog. It's not like Kobe has left a barren wasteland in his departure by forcing them to trade young players/picks for guys to win with. If the Lakers hit on the pick this year they could be back to a perennial, competent, winning, playoff team in the next 2 years. Also 5 rings in 20 years isn't too bad either.
  16. I've been wanting Gray as a main target for a while but never really looked at his numbers until recently, does the fact that he hasn't K'd more than 7.5 per 9 over the past 3 years scare anyone? If we are giving up some of our best trade chips for a pitcher I'd like to see us get someone with more knockout stuff.
  17. I'll blame us not having sole possession of the record on pitching to Goldschmidt I blame Babe Segura
  18. For Fernandez or Archer, if either became available at the deadline, I probably would. I don't think I would include him for any of the Indians guys or Gray. If he was an absolute requirement for Gray or the Indians guys I'd prefer to look at other routes to see if we could get someone like Odorizzi, Shields or Ross for just prospects.
  19. Agreed. Once Baez replaces Kawasaki, I can honestly say there's not a single spot in the 25-man I would want to use any resources on upgrading. If they falter or one of the other NL Central teams is hanging annoying close or if there are a run of injuries, sure. But as it stands right now, they project to win the division by 10+ games and the playoffs are still a crapshoot, so there's not really any ROI on trading for MLB talent right now. I still want another TOR starter for the playoffs on the Gray/Archer/1 of the Indians pitchers type level but I generally agree with you on this.
  20. The record of the teams we've played subtracting our games vs them is something like 6 or 8 games over .500
  21. bahahaahahahahaha, this team is horsefeathering awesome
  22. FFS, I thought Hamilton Dong'd again
  23. I'm a big Kobe/Laker fan and agree I don't think Kobe would work as a role/bench player. The thing with a lot of those other guys you mentioned were that they had 1 discernible skill, Pierce/Allen/Vince were good-great 3 pt shooters so they could turn into 3/4/5 options as corner 3 guys and the big guys could still rebound/take up space. Kobe's skill was his alpha dogness, which he isn't good at consistently anymore, so other than giving him a 2nd unit to come off the bench and chuck with idk how you fit him in and that role probably wouldn't be very successful. He actually is/was a great passer but he's not gonna go out and be like Rubio/Rondo just facilitating and not shoot.
  24. That was awesome
