  1. Yeah I like Sadler more than Winkler, odd move. Also I think there’s an open 28 man spot now? So Adbert coming up maybe? Osich comes in for Chatwood, KB for Perez, Martinez for Phegley and Maybin for Almora. Sadler didn’t need to go to clear room. Edit forget this. Souza takes Sadler’s spot.
  2. Souza and Bryant both back tonight
  3. If Bryant is back for this I’d like to see 1. Happ CF 2. Rizzo 1B 3. KB 3B 4. Schwarbs LF 5. Willy C 6. Heyward RF 7. Javy SS 8. Kipnis DH 9. Nico 2B
  4. IIRC we were incredibly high on Correa and thought we could get him, the Astros had a scout at some game/showcase that wasn’t even there to watch him but saw Correa and they fell in love. But Theo was pretty confident we had a really good shot at Correa if the Astros didn’t snipe him. Raisin told me this I believe.
  5. Build one of these things then post video Kyle
  6. Just send down Almora That's only one spot though. In terms of roster spots, if KB and Souza are ready to go we're basically looking at this: Phegley -> Martinez Chatwood -> Osich Almora -> Maybin Perez -> KB ??? -> Souza Maybe Souza's not actually that close despite taking ABs at South Bend today. But otherwise it's gotta be Nico or a reliever for Souza. Winkler/Underwood/Ryan I’d all send down/cut before Nico for Souza if he’s ready soon. Maybe Souza stays down until the playoffs too and he’s only a playoff roster add if he’s looking good/they like a matchup.
  7. They didn’t invite him to SB on the 60-man, they must have really soured on him. His high K, low contact profile is something they have enough of and he’s buried a bit in the minors with no real clear path for another year+.
  8. He was one of the Yankees pixie dust guys like Voit and Urshela. Statcast also says he's been unlucky this year. His xwOBA is .361, which for reference is Anthony Rizzo's real wOBA this year. Maybin in is weirdly redundant with Souza though. I wonder if that means Souza's not that close or if Nico might get sent down. Just send down Almora, why would you send Nico down over him? Almora should be gone as soon as KB is ready at least with Maybin/Martinez taking Perez and Phegley spots.
  9. I might just be wrong here, but it's possible LA didn't want to deal him to someone they might face in the playoffs. I saw a Tweet earlier today about how they were going to be looking at dealing from their depth for farm-system purposes. Yeah, that’s possible. Still seems like a weird move. He’s controlled for 2-3 more years and has been a valuable swing guy for them and they are always careful with their you g SP. Since they’ve fallen short so often recently I’m surprised to see them sell off and make their team worse this year.
  10. That’s a weird move, for two PTBNL we should’ve been in on him
  11. Cameron Maybin is nothing special with a .1 WAR and 95 wRC+ but when you realize he’s replacing Almora and that’s 2-3 times better than Almora this year (34 wRC+, -.1 WAR) that’s a decent margin upgrade.
  12. Yeah he’s basically free. I have no issue doing this and hopefully he gets back and is right, if he is he’s a definite upgrade. The issue is there’s only “a couple weeks” left anyways. Hopefully they make another move or two.
  13. He’s currently on the IL with a finger injury
  14. Half of his runs (5 of 10) and HRs (3 of 6) given up came in one outing. He has pretty strong K numbers and doesn’t really walk guys, can throw mid 90s with a curve and slider, lefties .211/.283/.381 vs him for career. Seems decent enough.
  15. Throw in Pillar too and that’s not a bad deadline
  16. Scott’s BB numbers scare me given our history with relief pitchers coming in who aren’t even as wild as him and losing their horsefeathers. 13% BB rate for career, 13% this year, 15% last year. Not doubt the stuff is there to be a thing but Fry seems safer. Yeah, making the decision easier should be that the Cubs basically have 3 guys who can be > Tanner Scott with power stuff from the left side in Steele, Marquez, and Carraway. Steele's probably not crazy far off from Scott, probably has a better breaking ball too I wish they would’ve given Steele 1-3 appearances while he was up to see if he was a thing. I think there’s a decent lefty reliever in him and he might be better than anyone we add anyways.
  17. With Chatwood likely going to the IL, and possibly done for the year and Q only a 3-4 inning guy currently I wouldn’t mind trying to find a swing man of some kind to help soak innings out of the pen and/or make some spot starts until Q is stretched out/in case another starter goes down. Adbert could be that guy I suppose but wouldn’t mind another guy who could at least go 2-3 innings out of the pen at min. The Pirates have some guys like Brault, Williams, Kuhl and Tropeano who could kinda be that type of guy. They aren’t anything special but could be serviceable.
