  1. Yes, and I'd list dozens of stats before I would even think of citing exit velocity. As a stat by itself I don't think it tells you much but I think it's very useful information to have when looking deeper at a player in evaluating them on a number of things.
  2. Why would it not be? Especially when used with other evaluation measurements and statistics.
  3. That ball he hit into the gap was absolutely smoked. the one right at 2nd? Theo's comment has to be in reference to the ball he hit yesterday or Saturday (I forget) into the RCF gap that the OF made a diving catch on, if I had to guess. Also could just be Theo horsefeathering around with the media/players
  4. He literally got cleared by his/their doctor(s) and Jed and other FO guys have said they wouldn't be putting him in a spot to risk another injury/long-term health. Outside of something flukey happening again he shouldn't be any more or less likely to get hurt than anyone else out there now that he got cleared by the doctors and finished his rehabilitation program. In other sports like basketball/football you see re-injury happen or a residual injury happen (i.e. other knee goes out) but those sports have a million times more contact, running/jumping, and switching course of direction quickly over MLB.
  5. Don't love him hitting 2nd, but I guess the idea is to give him plenty of protection behind him in Bryant and Rizzo to see better pitches?
  6. The camera angle is weird along with the picture being off, but didn't it seem like the 1B should've made a play on that ball?
  7. They certainly should be blowing by any of their projected revenue forecasts for this year, mostly because no reasonable and responsible forecasts should include hosting WS (or even playoff) games. The bump isn't coming from these crazy secondary market ticket prices though, they don't touch that money.
  8. It's relative with him, but Chapman has been more "hittable" this year than in years past but has also walked a lot less with a slight up tick in contact allowed.
  9. I generally hate the idea of spending a ton of money on relievers, but there's a number of circumstances that point to doing it this offseason for us that it makes a lot of sense to pull the trigger now (one of the main reasons being Jansen/Chapman are on the elite spectrum) if they ever are going to do it.
  10. The weather is supposed to be disgusting for game 2, 40s and a half+ inch of rain. If they were to try and play that game (I'm guessing it just gets pushed to Thursday) I wonder if they'd consider starting Lackey as to not burn Arrieta in a shortened game and/or give him more rest then go Hendricks and Arrieta game 3 and Game 4.
  11. Apparently Kipnis sprained his ankle in the post-game celebrations, he's going to play Tuesday but hopefully it at least bothers him some during the series
  12. Many more beers in the fridge here Likewise. I don't plan on feeling tomorrow
  13. I wanna buy Dorthy a shot. Also horsefeathers Lebron James and horsefeathers Cleveland
  14. I'll head down probably idk what day(s) exactly
  15. I had a northern Wisconsin weekend planned this weekend a long time ago to help out my uncle at the family cabin to take out the dock and such. But anyways I just jumped bare ass into a 40 degree lake. Go Cubs!
  16. God damn Hendricks. You glorious bastard
  17. I wonder if Jake gave him the PEDs he was taking last year. Would make sense with the recovery and God Mode dying. Team player, Arrieta
