  1. That was a really good approach at the plate that AB. If that ball is another foot to Kipnis's glove side that's a hit. If he would have hit the ball somewhere else he might have lucked into his first postseason hit. Okay, guy

  3. With the wet conditions, Bauer's mangled pinky not able to grip a ball completely I wouldn't be too surprised to see a safety squeeze put on tonight if given the opportunity.
  4. There's a bigger gap this year than for his career, .236/.305/.385 vs LHB, .253/.333/.399 vs RHB this year in about the same amount of innings/batters faced. For his career it's pretty neutral... .235/.327/.391 vs LHB and /.249/.329/.405. vs RHB
  5. He'll be worse nobody knows this, and even if he is, will he still be better than Lackey? I'd say most likely yes The internet is full of wonderful information. Outside of his ALCS start he's pitched on 3 days rest 1 other time for 2 innings (didn't start the game) and gave up 4H, 4R, 4ER, 0BB, 2K, 2HBP and 1WP. So combining that with his last start on 3-days/short rest Kluber is at 7IP, 8H, 2BB, 6ER, 9K. That's a 7.71 ERA. Which is about a run higher than Jason Hammel's postseason career ERA, a guy whom we all dread pitching for us in the postseason. To put it into perspective. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.cgi?id=klubeco01&year=Career&t=p
  6. I love when a plan starts coming together Would love to see what the board thinks but I don't think going on 3 days rest cause be a big change in their performance considering the way Francona uses them. He wants the starters to go 4-5 innings then turn it over to the bullpen. He can and will pull them early so their PC is low. I'm guessing the recovery time for throwing like 75 pitches is shorter than throwing 110 or whatever. And then even in the game they pitch on short rest they will still only be expected to go 4-5 innings again. Well if we have to face Kluber again it's best it's short rest than regular rest. Also a quick blurb from Fangraphs..
  7. I want to invite Dorthy over to all my family holidays
  8. Oh, Steve. Yeah, he's the guy who picks up our jock straps after the game and washes the uniforms. Good guy that Steve
  9. Jesus THAT guy. He even had back up signs that read "1984 and 2003 Chokers" really? You're gonna go for 1984 here? If you're the type of guy that wants to rag on the other team when you're favorite team is in the WORLD SERIES I got nothing for you There's a good chance half the guys on the team don't even know who/what the Bartman reference is and certainly have no clue about the horsefeathering 1984 Cubs which almost all the meaningful guys weren't even born yet.
  10. I would not be surprised if "Jason Mollett" is an alias Theo uses to troll people
  11. What do you think is more likely, if it happens, let's say we get 4 innings in then there's rain for like 1-2 hours. Do they suspend the game and finish it tomorrow or do you think they wait it out and play until like 1-2 in the morning? I stole this from GRB, which was from wikipedia.... "in the Major League Baseball postseason, regardless of inning, all games stopped at any time for weather are considered suspended and continued from the point of stoppage when play resumes, no matter if the game has not reached the requirements above.[4] This rule was put into place as a result of Game 5 of the 2008 World Series, which was the first postseason game in history to be suspended and resumed from the point of suspension. Prior to the 2009 postseason, a playoff game had to have at least five innings completed in order to be suspendable; a playoff game stopped prior to that point had to be started over. An example was Game 1 of the 1982 National League Championship Series, which reached the top of the fifth inning, but had to be restarted from scratch the next day."
  12. One of my weather apps makes it look like this thing is getting in easily 0% rain after nine only 30% for an hour after game start and the other has like 60% chance or better of rain all night.
