  1. At least he's already in New Jersey
  2. It's great to see the Mets stuck in 2004 Cubs mode over the last year. They are gonna lose 90+ games in the next 2 years. Oft-injured pitching, awful manager, injured/aging offensive players, bad defense, manager/FO horsefeathering around with their one young offensive player (C-Patt and Conforto), it's actually pretty shocking the similarities.
  3. DeGrom not starting tonight because he has a stiff neck. LOL
  4. Yeah, losing Rondo hurts. But they still have the best player on the court in Jimmy and maybe Wade has a little extra gear he can kick in to now. They should be able to relatively cover up the loss of Rondo. Also losing Rondo doesn't help out the Celtics in their biggest issue this series, rebounding.
  5. While I like him and really wanted us to get him when he was a FA, doesn't he have a tear in his elbow that could blow at any minute? Maybe it's nothing and can be managed but I swear he was on the verge of TJS last year or the year before.
  6. I wonder if members of the Reds bullpen are having PTSD from last year, today knowing we are in town for the weekend.
  7. He can't shoot anyways, just give him one of those club hands linemen or linebackers have when they have broken hands/fingers.
  8. Nah, that happens far more often, and would have a much larger impact. This is a change that would be to what you already showed was a very small number of games. Like I said, there are better solutions such as adding players to the 25 man roster for a few days. This would be my solution and seems reasonable. Any game that goes over x innings (13?) a team is allowed to carry 26 or 27 guys (have to be pitchers) for the next 2-3 days. Or create a special 2-3 day "DL" that after a game goes over X innings you can put 2-3 pitchers on it (had to of pitched in said game) and call 2-3 pitchers up.
  9. I really want nothing to do with Gray, the injuries lately freak me out.
  10. @Bestfansstlouis is all over this. I saw that after I posted and Martinez started pitching poorly, good stuff. It is a really awful look but of course BFIB take it to another level. If he has that same hair when he pitches against us next I hope Maddon complains that it's affecting the batters seeing the ball (results the last 2 games beg to differ) just to horsefeathers with him.
  11. In what must be an exhilarating game, the Royals and Rangers are tied 0-0 in the 13th.
  12. Yeah his FB/Cutter combination appears to be really solid and he has great velo/movement. He looks like a goober though, especially with his sprint in from the bullpen.
  13. Cespedes is doing his part. Cespedes just left the game with an injury. Also hurt are the perpetually hurt d'Arnaud, Duda, Wright, and Matz. I really thought this would be the year they'd get all those guys healthy. MRI tomorrow for Cespedes hamstring
  14. But yeah they suck and are in a sucky spot. Carpenter and Martinez are the only guys they could get real value for in a trade too if they tried to blow it up.
  15. Anyone see Carlos Martinez's hair tonight? Seems like something the Cardinals would complain about if he was pitching against them.
  16. The Mets are putting on a clinic of bad defense currently, Cardinalsesque you may say
  17. Didn't realize there's Christmas Eve games again this year, nice. Also New Years Eve games. I like it.
  18. If i had to guess it's a number of things for each guy. Regression/aging/decline for some after a lot of innings the last ~2 years, slight calibration issues with some of the readings (tho we seem to be the only team with everyone down while others are up), or guys taking it "easy"/still getting into shape, Len said on 670 a bit ago everyone in the rotation threw the fewest ST innings of their careers this Spring. Or, you know, pitchers suck and are going to break and all of them are going to horsefeathers at the same time.
  19. Jon Jay has looked pretty good, guys. Maybe he's playing just enough/getting the right matchups but him and Almora should be playing more at the expense of Javy. Let Javy come in, in the late innings for defense once we build leads.
  20. Honestly, that is stunning to me. Granted, I am a gigantic idiot. I have no idea what peripherals he could be referencing.... Javy hasn't taken a non-IBB walk yet, is K'ing 25% of the time, hitting for no power, still seems to be chasing out of the zone a lot, 61% contact rate and 46% o-swing percentage and slashing .229/.289/.314 with a .320 BABIP
