  1. Time to do to this bullpen what we did to them all last year
  2. I absolutely agree with this, but Lester giving up a horsefeathering laser, rocket 2 RBI double to the opposing pitcher didn't help either.
  3. Holy horsefeathers where the hell was that?!?!
  4. It seems like Grimm has pitched in every game this year
  5. Bryant certainly looked fine bending over/throwing the ball on the 2 balls to him this inning. So any worry about an injury from that slide should be put away other than he may deal with some small nagging thing for a few days. Certainly wouldn't think it's anything serious with how he fielded those 2 balls.
  6. It's crazy to think there were ever questions about him sticking at 3B, he's damn near gold glove level over there.
  7. Well, horsefeathers. Willy got some good pitches in that AB to do some damage
  8. My thoughts as well, looks like maybe his side/back/hip.
  9. horsefeathers, Bryant looks a little uncomfortable out there after that slide

  11. Yeah, he seems to at least be working counts and taking some tough pitches and generally has looked more like he has had an idea what's going on up there this year as opposed to Javy largely looking like he has no horsefeathering clue what's going on at the plate.
  12. Gonna be lucky to get 5 out of Lester tonight

  14. I mentioned it in the Transactions Thread today I think, Tanaka's tear in his arm freaks me out a bit. If the FO feels fine with signing him with that, with whatever treatment(s)/conditioning he's doing and don't think there's any more risk he blows out vs anyone else, great, he'd shoot up my preference list probably. But that injury scares me committing long-term dollars to him. I'd rather sign the guys who've already had TJS and shown they've come back than a guy who may be on the verge of it. Chatwood/Pineda will come cheaper than him too, which factors in (think both have a little to be unlocked if healthy getting with Bosio and our defense).
  15. It really would be great, because then you're going into 2018 looking like Lester,Hendricks,Mongomery,Butler and that open slot can be filled via FA. The Cubs would get to hang onto all of Eloy,Happ,Cease etc. As of now, they'd have their choice of (ages as of opening day 2018): Arrieta (32) Cashner (31) - For old time's sake... Chatwood (28) A. Cobb (30) Darvish (31) Hellickson (31) Lackey (39) F. Liriano (34) L. Lynn (31) Pineda (29) T. Ross (31) H. Santiago (30) Tillman (30) And possibly: Tanaka (29) - If he opts out Otani (23) - If he comes over The obvious target is Otani, but let's count him out for purposes of this discussion. Assuming no hometown discounts and considering the Cubs' payroll considerations with the young guns hitting arbitration in the next year or two, who would you (everybody) like to sign most and why? Chatwood very much intrigues me to get him out of Coors. He's youngish, great GB rates and his velo is pretty solid. He's my number 1 choice if we are being semi-realistic/not spending crazy money. Overall order of preference is 1. Otani 2. Whoever is cheaper of Arrieta and Darvish ($100 million or less and if it's more no thanks) 3. Chatwood 4. Pineda 5. Tanaka if his medicals are okay Don't really care for anyone else.
  16. Jimmy and Wade should probably be bringing the ball up/starting the offense the majority of the time tonight, IMO. Let MCW do it a little but Jimmy/Wade should be the primary ball handlers tonight. If I were the Bulls I'd be trying to get IT guarding Wade tonight and let him work him. Also try and run a lot of pick and rolls with Jimmy picking IT to try and get a switch and let Jimmy go to work. MCW should do a good job guarding IT, right? But they can kind of hide IT on him defensively. Obviously you try to force matchups where you can, but Grant or Zipser with Jimmy playing point, should provide more well rounded lineups. MCW will probably have to log some minutes though. Yeah agree on all accounts. MCW can guard IT fine I think but will bail out IT from having to guard anyone great on defense
  17. We play them in almost exactly a month, so it's nice to know we won't be facing him that series.
  18. Damn it, David. Just beat me to it. Anyways, yeah generally I think players should be able to do what they want.... But dirt biking in the middle of the season seems like a not wise decision.

  20. Plus there's always money in the banana stand
  21. No point guard could be a problem. Luckily Thomas is an awful defender. 22. Tommy is gonna be one unhappy seal when he gets to Iowa and he still can't play 2B everyday because there's a better player at the position.
