  1. I'd say the majority of MetsRefugees thinks that's the case too. And it's not, you know, that they built their roster with players who are aging, have injury history's already and their strength is built on a position that has a high attrition rate. But it's the trainers fault for not enough pre-game stretching.
  2. Cespedes just came up hobbling trying to run into 2B on a ball to the gap he probably wasn't even running full speed on.
  3. Which means it will be watched more on espn2, because it's in more households, right? That's why I don't understand this. If espn is shedding talent, why is a competing network bailing them out? If I'm a regular viewer of Intentional Talk, I'm going to continue to watch it on MLBN. Little chance of MLBN losing viewers because of this. Instead, they're going to make additional money from ESPN paying them to be able to air that content. Yeah and ESPN will get to air and profit off a relatively popular show for a sport they pay to air their games 2-4 nights a week that, in theory, should increase interest/exposure of said sport which could/should lead to more viewers of games. This makes a lot of sense for ESPN as it seems they want to provide more content and not necessarily produce it, or at least all of it, based off the comments with the firings yesterday/changing the direction of the company. It benefits MLB because they make more money off a show that likely was tapped out for viewer growth and revenues, or nearly tapped out, if it just stayed on MLBN. They also get more exposure of their sport on a network that airs their product.
  4. Which means it will be watched more on espn2, because it's in more households, right? That's why I don't understand this. If espn is shedding talent, why is a competing network bailing them out? It seems like a mutually beneficial partnership to me, I don't know what you're missing. MLB and ESPN/Disney are pretty close, Disney just bought in to MLB's BAMTech company in the last year.
  5. Huh? He held the bat really high, comparatively speaking to Rizzo's/Heyward's hands. Are you thinking of Aramis? I think he lowered his hands over the course of his career/time with us. http://www.thedailycub.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/Derek-Lee-200x300.jpg http://a.espncdn.com/photo/2010/0818/mlb_i_lee_b1_200.jpg I was thinking of Fred McGriff. Was Lee's adjustment standing on top of the plate? Got it, I think Lee's adjustment was opening up his stance a bit and maybe even holding his hands higher.
  6. "Everything is fine" [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet]
  7. He seems entirely adequate out there
  8. another way of saying he's terrible offensively and provides literally negative value despite his defense unless he exclusively faces lefties and the very best of rhp matchups (in which case, yes, he can be quite valuable) Or maybe give the guy more than 3 weeks to adjust to regular playing time, since he's shown to be productive offensively at every level, instead of demanding instant gratification for every player. He hasn't shown to be productive vs RHP in a pretty long time
  9. I think you're thinking of Cowherd or Skip Bayless with that with their new shows when they left ESPN. But yeah they are all garbage and any network that pays them millions for their nonsense TV deserves to fail.
  10. Law's top 50 came out today, any names/capsules anyone wants posted of guys we might take?
  11. I think he's one of their highest paid on air employees.....
  12. If they don't cut Shefty then they aren't really serious about these cuts. He does nothing original and for what he makes you could hire 5 interns for probably 1/20 of what he costs to follow the necessary guys on twitter to break news on ESPN's twitter page, ESPNs bottom line, etc. Who cares if you are 10 seconds behind Rapoport.
  13. Full count on Jay, who had seen about 11 pitches. Just trying to stay out of a double play and well Jay swung and missed on the only pitch of a 10+ pitch AB for a strike em out throw em out.
  14. Nice, Hector. I thought that thing was off the wall, if not in the river off the bat
  15. We have the 6th best team BB% in MLB at 10.1% only .5% separates us from the 2nd best team and we have taken the 3rd most walks at 78, which is 4.1 a game. We were at 10.4% and 4.05 a game last year.
  16. Agree, think CJ, Strop or Rondon are somewhat better options "to give a different look."
  17. Nice work, Kyle. Hopefully this is some progress on a night he clearly wasn't right, he fought through and figured it out.
  18. What the horsefeathers, offense. Cole is gonna be able to go 7-8 innings easily
