  1. I enjoy watching the NFL a little less than I use to, I'm not a fan really of any team, but fantasy and gambling keeps me watching. Also, what else am I going to do when it's 20 degrees or less outside?
  2. Might as well get this started since there's usually a few questions like this every year and generally the board gives good advice. Need to keep 1, 10 team, 1 point PPR league, everything else is standard scoring. AJ Green (lose 1st round pick) Jarvis Landry (lose 4th) Michael Crabtree (lose 9th) Davante Adams (lose 10th) Can keep up to 3, already plan on keeping Jameis and Dion Lewis whom I lose 10th and 9th round picks on. I'm leaning Adams with Crabtree 2nd option for value. Landry has some DV stuff going on and may be suspended and also has a new QB in Cutty and AJ Green is always an injury risk and losing a 1st I still could take him there when I draft (a lot of guys will be keeping guys who take a 1st rd pick so I'll be picking high). Thoughts, choose wisely?
  3. I don't get that, other than he throws fast. He has no command/control of the FB and it doesn't seem to have a lot of movement and none of his secondary stuff seems great that he can get guys off the FB. I'm very disappointed in him with the eye test so far, the results speak for themselves, but just watching him pitch his stuff just doesn't inspire much confidence. I mean he's pitched 4 innings. Sure they were not good at all but they are 4 innings. He had a 12 K9 with Detroit. And that was only in 40 innings, which is kinda a small sample size with the fungibility of relief pitchers and his historical performance. The previous 4 years he's been in the 9s for K/9 in 3 of those years and 7s for one of those years (though he is/was upward trending) spanning ~250 innings and he's in the 9s overall for his career.
  4. Yeah guessing it's an either/or, either he'll waive the NTC for being able to be a FA right now/end of year he's traded or his 2020 option is picked up. He's owed $56 million over the next two years, I have a hard time seeing him getting much more on the open market if he's a FA this offseason. Maybe 3/65 is but that's way pushing it and a pretty big gamble on his part to not take the $56 guaranteed.

  6. I think Mets fans were starting to think of him as the healthy, durable one this year too. He's had a TJ, missed chunks of seasons to elbow issues... Apparently he got Prior'd/Hawpe'd and took a line drive off his arm. That was the only tweet about it and figured he came up lame on a pitch, then I saw a video later, it's a tricep bruise and x-rays were negative.
  7. So his shoulder?
  8. Because he's doing the things a pitcher controls incredibly well this year and fWAR for pitchers is FIP based would be my simple answer. Also saw this tweet earlier, semi related.
  9. Yeah losing Paredes isn't a big deal to me, I'm fine using a guy like him to improve the team. But it's Wilson looking like a replacement level relief pitcher since he came over that I don't like giving him up for. His stuff just isn't great other than he's a lefty that throws hard.
  10. I'm sure there's a fishing analogy to explain the reasoning
  11. You think they will look to get like Kurt Suzuki off waivers for a replacement or do you guys think they are fine rolling with Caritini as the backup?
  12. The amount of minutes showing commercials vs golf on TNT's broadcast for the PGA has to be 10 to 1. This is ridiculous.
  13. ... Barstool Whatever the feelings are about Barstool I'm pretty sure they have decent connections to both Chicago baseball teams. They've broken stuff before, especially like this on injuries and call ups.
  14. And Jake. Lance Lynn as a backup plan. Boooooooo Let's punch Verlander's HOF ticket for him instead. Yeah, even at the age I think I'd rather have Verlander than paying Lynn and Jake 4-5/80-100 and also net an extra pick/draft money with losing Jake. If we are spending FA money on a SP it's Darvish for the top line guy or bust for me. Lester/Darvish/Quintana/Verlander/Hendricks then find 1-3 Butler's and Anderson's of the world off the scrap heap.
  15. Nobody is getting on base in front of him, pitchers can attack him more with pitchers, pitches and not have to give in as much when sexy dexy and the like were OBP monsters in front of him last year.
  16. On the positive side.... if we go 15-9 every 24 games the rest of the way the division is easily ours...
  17. Go eat you horsefeathering pretzel bread in the corner by yourself, Sofa. You horsefeathering monster
  18. God damn this mother horsefeathering season
  19. Hardest hit ball of the inning goes for a DP, of course
  20. Zobrist turning into Ryan Theriot when he makes contact is making me sad
