Why do you think Báez at third and Happ at second is optimal? Because the small sample size of Happ at third was kind of a disaster I thought Happ looked pretty good at 3B from the eye test the few games he’s played

I’m not arguing Q has been that good or that I’m not expecting more. Just that he hasn’t been “that” bad that we need to be in “OMG rotation is doomed and we need starters at the deadline.” There’s reasonable belief that him and Hendricks will get better sooner than later and I just used Verlander as an example since he’s held in some regard here that he’s always great and that’s just not the case. These guys go through weird/bad stretches Not to continue the derailment of the game thread, but when the Cubs got Q, wasn’t he statistically a Top 10-15 starting pitcher in all of baseball. Has he even been close to that for a significant period of start.... yet? Think he was even close to top 5 by WAR metics going back to like 2014 or so. He had a ~2 era for us after the trade last year or something like that.

He gave up 3 or less runs in every June start but 1 (4runs) And had a lower era in June than your precious Verlander. It's telling that you're hanging this all on the bold multiple times now, because that's literally all he has going for him in terms of arguing that he's figuring it out. His meh June ERA was a whopping .01 lower than Verlander's. Almost everything else has been consistently mediocre all season. I’m not arguing Q has been that good or that I’m not expecting more. Again, Q had been mostly quite good since May. I don’t get what you are seeing in him “not showing indications of being good.” I think Q’s biggest problem will always be what it seems that we gave up for him. Yeah. And speaking of, Jorge I mean Eloy is back on the DL with a leg injury.

He had a bit of a rebound in May. A bit. He gave up 3 or less runs in every June start but 1 (4runs) And had a lower era in June than your precious Verlander.
