  1. Villar is a complete piece of horsefeathers on defense
  2. I came to that same realization last night. He has no place on this team. where is he right now, is he hurt or something? I vaguely remember an injury He’s on the 60 day IL, he had a shoulder surgery after that collision/fall last year. I think he’s a months away from coming back.
  3. You would assume the Rockies would try to build their rotation with a bunch of GB pitchers. But then again, it's the Rockies, so who knows. I forget if they tried this more explicitly in the past, but I think the un-virtuous cycle is that the pitches that lead to ground balls move less in Coors and therefore more of them become barrels into the gap/over the fence. Didn’t they try this in like 2018 or so when they spent like $150 mil on the bullpen with ground ball type guys. Davis, McGee, Shaw and Oh?
  4. The double plays are probably a little high, especially for Willy, but it’s kinda a feature and not a bug with the offense profile of low Ks, OBP and a lot of contact.
  5. Now imagine if they had Correa and with Davis in the wings, this offense would actually be kind of exciting. Trade the farm for Soto, problem solved
  6. How much of that saved time is due to MiLB not having the commercial breaks a MLB game does? And how much of the shortened time is really due to a pitch clock?
  7. It’s probably the best use of Adbert too once, if, he comes back.
  8. I'm glad he can actually hit In all seriousness, this comparison has been out there too much. Their track records are not close Other than the speed being slower than you’d expect, I agree. Madrigal has elite contact skills while Almora never did but was perceived to have it for some reason.
  9. He had 67 IP last year, nothing in 2020 and 10 in 2019. So it probably seems smarter to keep him in this long relief type role like the Brewers used Peralta/Woodruff/Burnes when they first were up and how the Dodgers have used Urias/Stripling/May/Gonsolin. The 2-3 inning spirts once or twice a week seem more valuable then him being in the rotation and probably hitting an innings limit by July. This way they can use him as a weapon all year and still hit his innings and maybe even start him later in the year/have him available if they can make a playoff spot.
  10. More frequently than the Reds *shrug* The Reds have 4 playoff appearances since 2010. The Padres have 1 and it was in the shortened year. The Brewers have 5 since 2010. Padres have gotten over 77 wins only twice since 2010.
  11. Juiced ball, maybe some cheating (don’t know if Yankees were ever implicated in stuff) and over like 2 seasons like 75% of his good stats came vs the shitty orioles and he was pretty ordinary vs everyone else.
  12. He's also only considering loyalty going one way. The Cubs seem to have made very fair offers to all their stars. They chose to pursue a bigger paycheck. Nothing against them - this is their one chance to get that fat paycheck. Just don't complain about loyalty afterwards. I sort of agree with you, but the offers were considered to be below fair market value at the time. But in a free market, the value is what you can get. I think Rizzo is upset because he signed a below-market value extension while they were blowing smoke up his ass about being the face of the franchise and other ego-boosting nonsense and when it came time to pay him all the sudden it was a cold numbers game. I'm a labor guy, so in my mind, they kind of treated him pretty horsefeathers, if you can call multi-millions of dollars that. The Cubs were right in the end with what they allegedly offered guys for extensions seeing what they ultimately got. Bryant, Javy and Rizzo all over estimated their value/worth during extension talked seeing the contracts they got this offseason.
  13. Steve Cishek is warming up in the bullpen already
  14. Or Rizzo’s basis for negotiations was probably the Goldschmidt deal +/-, Cubs came in more around the Moustakas/Castellanos deals +/- and then Rizzo settled for a pack of gum and a 2 dollar bill from the Yankees. But yes it’s the Cubs who are wrong and bad and not loyal. Rizzo way over estimated his worth.
  15. Hendricks looks solid, this Brewers lineup is trash but he looks good
  16. I’m so ready to hate Madrigal’s midget ass and his stupid slappy profile
  17. Yeah I did make the cut at +122. That’s my only Tiger exposure. Figured if he’s playing he’s healthy/in good enough form to do that, plus it’s only a 91 man field and there’s like 25 guys between the olds and first timers/international qualifiers that really don’t have a chance to make the cut. So he really just has to be better then like ~15 other guys.
  18. Prospect status back on and the long national nightmare is over
  19. 7 years at “more than $30 mil a year.” So it probably was more $240-260 in total.
  20. He’s been on MLBN for a while. He’s on at least one of their shows daily, if not multiple ones, he might have a radio show through them too on Sirius.
