Pretty sure it’s a standard rule across the minors for us that pitchers are pulled once they finish an AB that takes them to 30 or more pitches in an inning. -

Good, now send Almora and Descalso away next. Because for pure baseball reasons they’re worse than Russell. We also likely save some money on this move, fwiw. Russell had a days on active roster bonuses.

Well, the Cubs haven't won a road game since some time during spring training so they're due to win a few of them. They're also trying their hardest to win the fewest games possible but still win the division, which is quite economical of them to save some wins for the playoffs. Willy is supposed to be back today, so that gives us a roster of approximately 19 MLB players. So we got all that going for us, which is nice.
