  1. Likewise, what do the Cardinals have left in the minors after pulling off the Holliday trade that would interest the Nationals?
  2. from mlbtraderumors.com Definitely couldn't complain about that. The royals are going to ask for more than just bradley, they'll probably ask for a pitcher or two. How would you guys feel if they asked for Marshall on top of bradley. I'd be fine to give up Marshall and maybe a lower level prospect. It would be nice if Hendry could get Alberto Callaspo involved dude raked last year for a MI .300/.356/.457 .813 OPS. I know he has had issues both defensively and character wise but I'd be willing to take the risk. If we could get Meche and Callaspo I'd be willing to give Marshall and Flaherty or Logan Watkins along with Bradley to complete the deal. I could see Hendry taking back Farnsworth or Cruz though because he has been rumored to be looking for a "veteran" bullpen arm and both have bigger contracts for being MR on a team with a payroll like the Royals.
  3. The money wouldn't match up for DeJesus. So it would have to be Bradley for Jose Guillen(with the Cubs sending some money for 2011 for Bradley) or maybe a Bradley(and maybe another cheap player) for Gil Meche trade. Meche is owed 24m in 2010 and 2011 so the salaries are close to matching up. I dunno why the Royals would wanna get rid of Meche to get Bradley though. So Bradley/Guillen seems more likely. Yeah Dejesus alone doesn't make much sense. Contracts don't match up and the Cubs would have to eat a rather large portion to match them. Like you said Meche and Bradley only have a $3mil. difference in what they are owed the next two years and they have been rumored to be making him available. Juan Cruz is owed $3.25 this year with a $4 mil. option next year and Hendry is looking for a "veteran" reliever. Then there is also Farnsworth who is somehow making $4.5 this year and has a $5.25 option for next year. Also they have Callaspo who they might want to move. I wouldn't mind a Bradley, Wells/Marshall, and 1-2 Prospects (maybe 1 of Barney/Flaherty and W.Castillo) for Meche, Cruz, and 1 of Callaspo/Dejesus. I want no part of Guillen.
  4. Yeah, the rest of the interview was actually quite good and put him in a good light, but that question/answer was just absurd. There is no context in which that is sensible. Yeah I agree in no way will that quote work in his benefit or was it necessary. He should have just made a more general quote, something like "there are a lot of things that coaches of other universities do that they don't get called out on that if I did the same thing while at ND I would have caught hell for it, there was definitely a double standard held upon me as the coach at ND."
  5. Who got hurt?
  6. They went into the game with two out then their LT got hurt early, don't know if he returned though.
  7. They are still right there with the Saints, missing their best CB and 3 o-linemen.
  8. Rolle can throw the ball 90 yards? Really Collinsworth?
  9. Collinsworth just said that Harvin was a RB last year at Florida and the Vikings are changing him to a WR. WTF? Pretty sure he was a WR the whole season last year and the only time he was a "RB" was when he would run reverses and maybe some weird wildcat formations once in a while.
  10. Who do you suggest our young player be? Because if we are running Fuld/Colvin out to CF every game for the first 1/2 of the season we won't be anywhere near contention by the time the trade deadline comes around it won't matter who we trade for because we will be so far back.
  11. Agreed judging pitchers value by season-season wins is going to give you very mixed results on how good a pitcher actually is. However I do think wins can be used, to a point, for judging the value/effectiveness of a pitcher over a whole career. Along with all the other things like whip, era+, k/9, h/9, etc.
  12. Holy [expletive] the Rams are bad
  13. He averages 73 BB per year, he's only had 2 seasons with a OPS below .780 since 1999 (.774-2003 and .759-2007), he has been at .800+ 6 times since 1999 and two other years he was just below .800 (.798 and .795) and his career OPS while in the NL has been .805 (.769 AL). He is a top 10 CF and would make us better without a doubt. You also have to remember this move allows us to move Kosuke back to RF, where he ranked as one of the best defensive RF in 2008. We go from having below average defense at all 3 OF spots last year to having well above average defense in 2 OF spots.
  14. I don't buy that. Lou was talking him up in the SunTimes article, which to me is a pretty clear indication the Cubs are very interested in Cameron. They can be interested, I think they are, but that isn't what Dierkes is saying is false. What he is saying is false is that a signing of Cameron is coming soon as well as a Bradley trade. Lou was talking up Ibanez last offseason when we were searching for that vaunted LH middle of the order run producer, then we went and signed Bradley.
  15. It happened in the UM/ND game this year and they didn't bother reviewing it. It happens all the time in NFL/NCAAF at the end of games when teams kick field goals too. The guys who run the clocks are usually very liberal with the time at the end of games, 99.9% it's not even realized/known and the game simply ends without question.
  16. Will Caroroll of Baseball Prospectus tweets
  17. Bo Pelini might kill someone here if Texas makes this FG.
  18. WTF Texas?!? Why run that play there when you got a TO?
  19. Way to kick the ball out of bounds there you schmuck
  20. \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>
  21. They should really try to jinx this kicker even more
  22. How good is Nebraska's kicker? Is he capable of kicking at 45+ yarder?
