  1. I am totally on board with this. (Not necessarily in a deal for Upton, but a lower payroll team like you mentioned. Assuming his perception league wide is he is a viable #3/4 starter in a good-above average rotation)
  2. Fixed, I think we have all given up on him, it's just a matter of us getting rid of him before he is Baltimore bound.
  3. How many of those were home games? 2 (3 if you include tonight) I have seen their games at home against ATL, BAL, NE and their road games @NO, @CIN
  4. I've seen the Steelers play at least 3, if not 4 or 5, times this year and I swear Reed has missed at least 1 FG in every game I have watched.
  5. I'd settle for 2009. I'd settle for 2010 Adam Dunn. This
  6. Also add to the fact that he only has one more year of team control and if you want to keep him past that you are going to have to commit somewhere around $12-15m annually to him.
  7. I don't know if I can handle seeing him in purple. That [expletive] sucks. What's he looking like physically? Might not be a bad move to cut Frank Walker (who they just signed a few weeks ago after being a street free agent) and sign Harris. Especially with the Packers game in two weeks. He's said that he's been fine the last few weeks and the team just hasn't activated him, for whatever reason. It's pretty clear that McCarthy and Thompson just didn't feel like he was as good as what we currently have right now. I really wish we'd just bring him back because we've been absolutely ravaged by injuries this season. Who's to say somebody like Woodson, Williams, or Shields (who missed a couple of games earlier in the year) won't get hurt? We're already thin as it is in the secondary. Why take a chance to get even thinner when you can bring Harris back? Harris isn't even good anymore IMO. He looked terrible last year before the knee injury and living in Wisconsin I keep hearing people talk about his return like they are getting the pro bowl CB back that he once was. The truth is he is a 35 year old who was on the decline last year and now has to come back from knee surgery/injury. Now I understand your argument about at least bringing him back for depth, but I wouldn't expect him to come back and have the kind of impact like many people are expecting.
  8. On a one year deal I think I would rather have Overbay than Johnson. Overbay isn't anything special, but he stays healthier and should be good fro 17-22 HR and an OPS in .780-.820 range.
  9. Not anything ground breaking, it was pretty well known he was going to return. But good to know it's official. http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/cubs/post/_/id/2655/ramirez-declines-free-agency-will-return
  10. No way. He would not come back if Childress is still there. If his effort wasn't bad enough last week... I know, Moss is likely gone. But just in general is the waiver processes similar for both MLB and NFL?
  11. Is putting someone on waivers in the NFL the same things as MLB? The Vikings could just be measuring interest in him and hold onto him in the end. Just like how most MLB teams put a good amount of their players on waivers every year.
  12. What exactly is the role of a bench coach? Are they just someone to help keep the manager organized and give the manager someone to throw ideas off of? Along with having some sort of specific knowledge (hitting, pitching, defense, etc.)? Like Trammell with the infield defense.
  13. Yeah I go Henne, Schaub wasn't good against them in week 1. Indy is coming off a buy, their D can be really good, and like the others have said they are gonna be playing pissed off from the week 1 loss.
  14. Ray Allen is cold blooded
  15. WOW the Giants are just bending over the Cowboys right now.
  16. well said, lebron's PR Firm. Well said Fixed
  17. Will Trammell be back as bench coach?
  18. I'd go with Ellis, Garcon, and Sims-Walker I got a few Pick Three of: Ahmad Bradshaw v. Det Michael Turner @ PHI Michael Bush @ SF Ryan Torian v. IND Jahvid Best @ NYG I am thinking Bradshaw (he's a lock), Turner, and Bush (if McFadden doesn't play) Pick one: Bears D/ST v. SEA San Diego D/ST @ STL
  19. I would love for Hendry to make him a priority, but I think the bidding will be too high in the end. I think his stuff translates well to last into his mid/late 30's, he's a control guy (which doesn't really go away with age) and he isn't a overpowering guy who once he loses his velo he is done.
  20. Well, he's 1 for 1, as Fredi returns to Atlanta. That was the easy one though. I know there are only so many managerial jobs available but I just don't see why anyone would want to take the Pirates job when you know there is virtually no way to succeed there. I wouldn't want the job going into this season, but I think they have potential to be attractive destination when they need a replacement for the guy who takes over this offseason. They have some good talent in the minors that is still a few years off, but could become respectable in 4-5 years. With the #1 pick this year, Alvarez already up, Tallion has ace potential but is still really young, and between Alderson, Lincoln and Von Rosenberg they should at least get one 2/3 type guy out of that group.
  21. WTF kind of play calling/coaching/clock management is that?????
  22. Jets might as well kick the FG on 1st down after that return since they can't score a TD.
  23. Cliff Lee's 6 career starts in the playoffs 5-0 6GS 47.1IP 32H 8ER 6BB 1HR 43K 5 of his 8 earned runs came in game 5 against the Yankees last year
  24. His second half of 2009 was pretty good 4-3 2.55era 12GS 67IP 44H 31BB 88K 1.119whip 11.8k/9 If he'd be willing to take a bullpen role, I love the idea of him being our RHP 7th/8th inning guy.
