  1. The thing I fear the most.... Barney struggles early and instead of getting Baker more starts and/or Dewitt, Castillo is still a FA and Hendry goes out and signs him to be our starting 2B.
  2. Rickie Weeks is going to have a monster [expletive] year if he stays healthy
  3. Leadoff Double for Stubbs in the bottom of the 1st, Dustbags has Phillips sac bunt him over to third. Genious Dusty, Genious.
  4. Teixeira just molested a baseball
  5. Link? I don't think it's a terrible move by Quade. With Dewitt's terrible spring (and not really producing much in MLB the last few years) and Baker's history of struggling against RHP, we might as well see what Barney can do. Baker better be starting every single game against LHP still.
  6. They are going to have one of the best rotations and bullpens in baseball and their offense should/could be good enough to get it done also the play in a average-bad division. I think the Rangers will have a down year from last year, they rely on guys who have issues staying healthy (Hamilton, Cruz, Kinsler) and they had a lot of young pitchers see a spike in IP last year due to their deep playoff run and that could lead to their SP's regressing/not being as effective.
  7. That and the first thing noted on most scouting reports/prospect rankings about Burke is his arm strength. I think this move makes a good amount of sense.
  8. AL East: Red Sox, Yankee, Blue Jays, Rays, Orioles AL Central: Tigers, White Sox, Twins, Royals, Indians AL West: Athletics, Rangers, Angels, Mariners AL WC: Yankees NL East: Braves, Phillies, Marlins, Mets, Nationals NL Central: Cubs, Brewers, Reds, Cardinals, Pirates, Astros NL West: Dodgers, Rockies, Giants, Diamondbacks, Padres NL WC: Phillies World Series: Red Sox over Braves in 6 AL MVP: Carl Crawford NL MVP: Prince Fielder AL CY: John Lester NL CY: Roy Halladay AL ROY: Kyle Drabek NL ROY: Brandon Belt AL Comeback POY: Mark Prior (I can hope) NL Comeback POY: Chipper Jones
  9. As of right now we are looking at a high of 48 and a 60% chance of snow/rain, glad I passed up tickets and decided to watch the game at home instead. And by the general direction of the first game of the year, this is going to be one hell of a year....
  10. It'll be interesting to see how they divvy up the AAA at-bats. My guess is that Ramirez will get quite a few at-bats at somewhere other than catcher and I'm not sure that he would necessarily be the first one called up if there was an injury. Agreed, especially if it's an injury to Soto (god forbid) and not Hill, I think Castillo would get the call up in that case. I would also agree with you that Ramirez will shuffle around between C and 1B with maybe some time at 3B and/or the OF. Good news though, I am glad we were able to keep him in the system.
  11. A: A. Pujols B: D. Uggla, P. Fielder C: C. Pena, N. Cruz, R. Braun D: C. Crawford, K. Youkilis, J. Heyward, J. Upton, J. Morneau WC: PM'd
  12. Samardzija out, Szczur in as the the guy who was kind of good at football so lets draft him as a baseball player since he has a hard to pronounce/spell last name.
  13. FA wise there really aren't any 2B available if you actually want a good 2B. Trade wise there is Michael Young who seems untradeable at this point due to his contract and Rangers asking price, Brian Roberts could possibly become available this season/during the offseason but he is on the decline. There are some FA SS worth looking at to see if they would be open to playing 2B (Reyes, Furcal, Rollins).
  14. I saw that. He certainly can't hurt the pile of [expletive] that is the Milwaukee Bucks.
  15. I really hope we have a chance to get Bubba or Gray
  16. What the hell is up with Guzman? He hasn't even logged a ST inning. Also I was really hoping Mateo would get a bullpen spot, looks like that isn't happening. I think he has potential to be a solid 7-8 inning guy.
  17. The Angels catcher Cogner (sp?) is/was a pretty highly rated prospect right?
  18. Agreed the box score on that will look worse than it did in reality. Cashner needs to hit the zone a little more consistently though.
  19. If Morales comes back healthy the Angels don't have a terrible offensive team between him, Hunter, Wells, Abreu, Hendrick, and Callaspo (who I think is a little underrated). It's no juggernaut, but it's an alright lineup for that division.
  20. That strikeout pitch from Cashner looked more like a Change/Split than a Slider.
  21. Game is on MLBN at 3pm cst. FYI. As long as Cashner doesn't implode today I think he will get the 5th starter spot. He basically has to give the Cubs a reason why not to make him the 5th starter and not a reason to make him the 5th starter.
  22. The game is on MLBN today and Cashner is starting. If he has a good start today you have to think he would lock up the 5th starter spot, if he already hasn't...
  23. Alright pick up for them. With Utley's health in question and Polanco not getting any younger/healthier either. Castillo should get quite a few ab's for them this year between 2B and 3B. That's assuming he stays healthy himself.
