    They just said on the Phillies game on ESPN that every time a Phillie has swung at a pitch today that a ball was put in play. They don't have one foul ball or strike swinging. It's the bottom of the 5th with 2 outs, that has gotta be close to a record.

    I thought I saw a blurb from one of Levine, Miles, Rogers, etc. That all of his family was safe (I am 99% sure his wife and kid(s) live in the US now). Don't know if he donated anything, but I have to imagine he did/will.

    I don't even think he was a candidate or got interviewed anywhere in the offseason. I think there was some brief connections between him and Milwaukee but nothing serious.

    He'll be the first in a long, long line to do that to Houston this year. That is true. The Pirates are batting Lyle Overbay clean up and the Astros are batting Bill Hall 5th. :? Don't know why they don't have Alvarez batting 4th. Pirates should be trying to get Walker, McCutchen and Alvarez as many ab's as possible. The Pirates seem to be collecting a lot of really talented guys now that they are willing to spend in the draft. Yeah, they are slowly but surely turning things around. They really need some of their pitching prospects to turn out and become #1, or 2 types in order to take that next step.

    I have waited all winter for this day and they are doing a special on [expletive] hot dogs in the pre-game coverage!?! How about some player/coaches interviews, offseason recap, insight on the team or some Ron Santo stuff.

    $7-10m in guaranteed money is awful hard to walk away from. If a team is willing to spend the money on him in the first 10 picks (which I think quite a few are) I think it's a calculated risk that is worth taking that he will sign with you if you are willing to go into that price range.

    Adrian Gonzalez is hitting 5th today for the Red Sox, I understand he missed some time in ST and might not be completely ready. But he's the best hitter for the Red Sox, no excuse to not bat him 3rd.

    Looks like the rain will be peaking between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. tomorrow. Could easily see the game getting pushed back and hour or so.

    The players have cars shipped to AZ then back to CHI? Why wouldn't they just rent cars for ST or have the organization set up a deal with a local car dealership to get loaner cars for a month or so. Seems like quite a waste of money doing what they do. Anyways, what kind of car does Marshall have?
