  1. have you checked yours? I have an ERA? I wasn't aware I was pitching in organized baseball. maybe he's referring to Prior. And that ERA would be 0.00  Unfortunately, PriorPower's quote still applies.
  2. Peyton's not the 2nd best fantasy value-Steven Jackson is. As much as I like Peyton, he really can't be considered that much until at least pick 5 or below. Correct, sir. I took Jackson. Peyton went right behind him at 3 (to a Colts fan). Rudi was my 2nd rounder, then McNabb. I traded a 9th-rounder and Willis McGahee for Marques Colston and a 15th-rounder because I was desperate to upgrade my receiving corps and already had my two backs (since I later got Willie Parker, who is rated higher than McGahee, I don't feel bad at all about making that deal). How on Earth does Willie Parker last until the 4th round or later -- even in an 8-team league? I have a 14-team draft coming up this weekend -- I'm doubtful Willie gets to my pick in the first round (#9)! You are still weak @ WR -- you probably would have been much better off taking a top WR in the 3rd round instead of McNabb. And by picking McNabb, there was definitely no reason to waste a roster spot on Quinn. Also, under no circumstance should anyone ever draft a backup kicker.
  3. Look at rankings, mock drafts, average draft position, etc. to begin getting a feel for when players are getting picked (make sure they are for similar # of teams and rules as your league). If you already know what your draft position will be, start to map out players that will likely be available. Target certain players that you like or feel are in good situations to be productive this year and equally important in my book - decide which guys you want nothing to do with -- even if they end up highest on the draft board when your pick comes up, pick someone else that you like and is comparable in value -- at the end of the draft you might as well like your team. Also, make sure to stay current -- don't look at old info -- and make sure you check injury reports all the way up until draft day.
  4. Per a recent update on ESPN1000 -- no other links to confirm these moves yet.
  5. Nope - nothing yet.
  6. Magic number = 39!
  7. Woo!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
  8. Uh oh. Drama.
  9. lead-off singles suck :(
  10. 3 quick outs. Please Please Please.
  11. Must suck to be Rich Hill. Seems like he's never getting any run support this year.
  12. The Cubs are usually just finishing up their batting practice and then the visitors start their BP as the gates open to fans. Persons with media credentials get in 4 hours before game time so I imagine some of the media outlets will be showing footage of Vitters on the evening news.
  13. Wily Mo's locker has been emptied -- he'll either be traded or DFA'd at any moment.... Link Go get him Jim!
  14. IMO -- that's exactly what Tivo/DVRs are for -- how often do you get a chance to see USA vs. Brazil live?
  15. Jacque has a 1.177 OPS in August.
  16. Where at? I'm in sec 119 row 18. I got 110, row 10.
  17. Got my tix - me happy. :D
  18. Nevermind -- the email was in my bulk folder - must have been considered spam....
  19. I'm trying as well -- did they send out pre-sale codes? I registered on ussoccer.com but haven't received any info yet.
  20. Unless he can play RF and hit homers like Rick Ankiel... not interested.
  21. And you know for certain that no one on the current roster has ever cheated in his past? The whole era is tainted. I say get over it, get the best players you can, and finally win it all.
  22. I think he is saying that since the Giants might be done with him, and he will probably goto an AL team next year, why not trade for his bat for the next 2 months as a rental. That's what I was saying -- he's not very good in LF anymore but there wouldn't have to be a commitment to bringing him back next year. If you have a speedy Pie in center to cover more ground it would be worth it to add that kind of bat to the lineup. I'm over the cheater stuff -- like apete6 pretty much said, if Bonds was part of the reason the Cubs ended a 99 year drought I know I would still enjoy every moment of winning a World Series.
