At this point, the Cubs been so tentatively linked to so many players, that it seems n one has a clue what the Cubs are doing. We should also change this thread title. There is nothing swift about this off-season. -

I think we are mixing revenue and profit here. The Cubs had a revenue of $434 million in 2016 and $457 million in 2017.

I have to think this is all some ploy. Like TT said, signing Hamels would make no sense if we were money crunched. We obviously would need to move 1-2 outfielders to make room for Harper. Heyward will be really hard to move, and would be even harder to move if someone thought we were going for Harper. Maybe its easier to signal we overspent and need to reduce payroll some than look like big spenders with money burning a hole in their wallet.

Everyone else was spitting on that stupid slider 2nd time through and dumbass Willy chases for a ball ahead in count. Almost every time, low FB followed by low slider.

First night we were in Kauai a couple weeks ago was when they got 25-30 inches of rain in one day in the northern part of the island. Fortunately we were staying near the airport and weren't really planning on going to the northern part much. I was in Kauai at the same time too! We were in Wailua and I got photos of the flooding in Hanalei. We went to the Queen's Bath the day after and got pounded with more rain. I had to throw away my socks and shoes due to the mud. Climbing back up was like going uphill in a river.
