  1. When he ends up signing with the Cubs for like 4/90, Brewers fans are going to claim Stearns had no interest but instead did a masterful job of forcing Theo to overpay.
  2. At this point, no one is bidding anything higher. I don't see anyone able to make an offer of more years or dollars. Holding out isn't working, or he is just the most indecisive guy ever.
  3. where'd you get that interpretation? From Hunter's post: I was assuming that was all stuff that Morosi reported. Yes, Morosi is reporting that the Dodgers have interest in bringing Darvish back. How interested, is anyone's guess.
  4. Dumping two of those 3 to sign Darvish is pretty close to a wash as far as projected WAR is concerned. Would the Dodgers pay $10M more this year to pick up a half game in the standings at the best, not to mention the $60+M in additional liability over the next 3 or 4 seasons? Maybe this is Theos gamble. It all but assures the Doyers are out of the Harper sweepstakes right Grandal, Forsythe, and Ryu are all FA after 2018. Signing Yu for 20+ would take them out of the Harper sweepstakes unless they got really creative in payroll dumping for 2019.
  5. According to Morosi, the Dodgers are trying to keep 10 million in payroll free to make room for possible deadline deals this upcoming season. He also puts more to the rumor that the Cubs aren't willing to go more than 4 years. If he isn't going to get 5 or 6 years, Yu probably wants to go back to LA for a 4 year deal. Hyun-Jin Ryu is listed at 7.8 million for 2018 last year of a 6/36. Logan Forsythe at 9 million after his option was exercised. Yasmani Grandal at 7.9 million of a 1/7.9 contract. So Ryu is 6 million AAV and Grandal 7.9 AAV. Forsythe is 9 AAV. According to: https://www.truebluela.com/2018/1/13/16887090/dodgers-payroll-competitive-balance-tax-2018-arbitration Dodger's current CBT payroll is 180 million. Leaving their desired 10 million cushion leaves them with 7 million to put towards Yu. They are going to need to dump 2 of the 3 of Ryu, Forsythe, and Grandal to get close to Yu money and leaving a 10 million cushion. I don't see anyone taking Ryu at that price. Doesn't make sense why the Dodgers would pick up the option on Forsythe at 9 million then try to trade him. They might be able to dump Grandal and Kemp, but they would probably have to dip in to their 10 million cushion to still sign Yu.
  6. Yeah, when did NSBB go away and the switch to NSB happen? I miss having NSBB as a domain.
  7. Don't write an article about it, please. Write an article about why we shouldn't sign Darvish.
  8. i will definitely take that bet, and say writers won't let juicers taint the induction of did-it-the-right-way guy Jeter Channeling the East Coast mentality here.... Jeter will be elected all alone. He deserves to have the stage to himself.
  9. You saying this makes me REALLY care about the Cubs signing Darvish. Then you will love the writer's suggestion that we sign him to 8 years to lower the AAV.
  10. It has been reported that Darvish asked a friend what is a "onesie". Can you wear dress shoes with them?
  11. Yeah, without a robust farm system right now, how will we fill all the holes we might have in 2022? It really sucks when farm system is "barren" because all of your top prospects are in your MLB starting lineup.
  12. Go for the kill shot, get Yelich and watch them go full on neurotic..
  13. I am so sure GM's go around jacking up prices to mess with other teams. Uh Yeah. Stearns jacks up the price, other GM's totally believe it when an agent says GM XYZ made an offer for 5/160, you're totally going to offer more right? No way agents would stop talking to you or your team with their clients if you made fake offers to mess with other teams.
  14. I feel like we will know something on Darvish soon. I wonder if anyone will actually sign Cobb or Jake immediately after. It really feels like there is no market for a lot of players. I don't think Darvish signing will open any floodgates.
  15. Why would anyone insult the best player on our team? :banghead:
  16. That is my biggest off-season fear. Morrow is going to go Justin Wilson on us.
  17. I'm sure we can entice him by showing him videos of how well our fans treated Fukudome. /sarcasm.
  18. Yea but Happ >>>>> Soler Happ this year is greater than Soler by a decent amount. This year's Happ versus last year's Soler is a lot closer debate than some may think. I think this year's Happ is ahead, but it's not by that much to make a discussion about it moot. That's one heck of a hot take. Happ by every statistical measurement is better than Soler was in 2016 by quite a bit. About the only thing Soler did better was walk which lead to a tiny bit higher OBP.
  19. Watching Daphne is actually more mesmerizing than Frasier here I thought she was the only reason anyone watched the show.
  20. I really wanted to see a Turner reaction shot. Oh well will have to live with another Kershaw sad face.
  21. No kidding for their first title ever.
  22. That hat is fugly.
  23. Our Reign is over.
  24. Chase Utley...still subpar at baseball.
  25. I'm all for preventing the manager from coming out to make the switch after the catcher has already visited the mound to stall even more.
