Hoff misplayed a single for a two base error and two runs scored. I don't think anything else happened besides that. Well, he also played 2 other balls poorly. Didn't affect how the play turned out, but he came visibly close to screwing up.

Why are people so hung up on the appeal story? He doesn't think he deserved suspension, he doesn't want to lose 2 days of pay, there's nothing wrong with him fighting it. There are going to be plenty of times the rest of the year where sitting for a couple days will more or less be a necessity. I don't see how I'm hung up or really complaining about it. Obviously I'd prefer if he'd take the suspension now, but he's got real reasons for preferring to appeal and knowing that a couple of games could be the difference in $10 million make them stronger. Bombast: Grandiloquent, pompous speech or writing.

If he plays less it becomes a $12m option with a $2m buyout. So we know why he's appealing
