  1. Wow, headley's hands were 14" directly above the pich that he swung at on strike one
  2. Huh, I never noticed that Bob had a passable, not completely tone-deaf singing voice. Pretty good for an ex-player
  3. "Now I'm here talking to you so it looks like I'm giving you advice, but I'm just telling you to drill him with a pitch. I'm going to keep talking to make it look less and less likely that you hit him intentionally, so really nail him"
  4. Because he couldn't catch a blooper with his back to home plate in a swirling wind, he can't play defense anymore? But yeah I believe the numbers say that he isn't the same defensive 1B as he was earlier in his career. Also, am I the only one that still isn't willing to trash on Derrick Lee and feels somewhat confident he'll at least be a decent contributor this year? I'm actually more worried about Soto than I am Lee, today's home run aside. No Lee offensively is done Im afraid. His bat is so slow its scary. He just isnt the same player, and part of that may be playing with a herniated disk, but I think hes done. See I remember people commenting on how amazingly slow Edmonds' bat was when we first signed him and he struggled, but then he ended up hitting 20 HRs for us and had a pretty good offensive season. Lee is 33 and while he is old enough to be declining, I don't feel like he's at all old enough to be completely washed up. I would be willing to bet at some point this year he'll have a halfway decent stretch of ball. Edmonds wasnt playing with a herniated disk, and coming off a couple seasons of losing his power since returning from an injury. No, he was coming off of a couple of seasons of losing his power and bat speed from age
  5. Also, am I the only one that still isn't willing to trash on Derrick Lee and feels somewhat confident he'll at least be a decent contributor this year? I'm actually more worried about Soto than I am Lee, today's home run aside. I'm not very worried about Lee, but I could see him going either way on a .650 ops or an .850 without my being surprised. On the other hand, 850 for your 8 figure a year first baseman isn't good.
  6. hit a liner the SS caught, ruled on a bounce (not sure if it really was), Soriano went back to second, Theriot thrown out at second, Soriano out at third edit: sS caught it and dropped it, setting up the DP
  7. He's done it in 3 of his last 4 games edit: actually, just two of 4
  8. It doesn't matter how well Gregg pitches, he's not finishing the season with 20 saves
  9. That ball may never be able to be used again
  10. I think the worst is that Sullivan doesn't know what happened
  11. I think you need 10 years of MLB service time to get pension. and he's got 9?
  12. For those who didn't see the game and don't get the joke, the ball never hit Braun. It hit his bat and he faked getting hit.
  13. So our short guys are all baserunning idiots too, huh
  14. it's not the 6' thing as much as it is the 5'9" thing
  15. That was like Hart was just in disbelief that Miles could possibly hit a ball over his head so he refused to run backwards
  16. 3-0 Hawks since I turned it on, nice
