  1. Don't forget not having Chapman in the final out photos. This cannot be understated. I was kinda hoping Arrieta would come in for the 10th, and get the last out with a K, but Monty inducing the Bryzzo moment is probably even better. Yeah. In the moment I really wanted Jake to be the guy on the mound to end it.
  2. I really want to click on the Maddon strategy article, but I was so angry at him during Game 7 and I haven't been angry at him since we won. I don't want to be angry about anything from this year. Now that it's over I wouldn't change a thing, but rewatching this stuff makes me nervous knowing how close we were (Joe was) to blowing it. Two big things we don't get if Cubs bullpen locked down the win in regulation: 1. Rizzo's reaction to Zobrist's 2B. 2. The drama of the other team having the World Series winning run at the plate during the last out. Seriously, this is such a rare occurrence. It has to be in the bottom half of a game 7 in the 9th inning or later for it to be possible for both teams to be able to win the World Series on ONE PITCH. Royals/Giants had this situation in 2014. But it cannot be all that common.
  3. As we enter this new era where the Cubs are awesome and the Cardinals are not, I wonder what negative online name they will receive (i.e. cobs or barves).
  4. Did anyone ever find an answer to this question? I can't find any mention of the regular World Series video being included in the package with the full games, so my guess is that it isn't, but there is nothing that specifies one way or another. I am wondering too. I ordered the 8 disc set, don't want to order the regular WS champs disc if its already included. And the 8 disc set is now $55.11 at Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Chicago-Cubs-World-Collectors-Blu-ray/dp/B01LRCDYSY/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1479657611&sr=8-2-fkmr0&keywords=cubs+world+series+8+disc+blu+ray I know the Royals 8 disc set did NOT include the regular disc. Amazon accidentally sent me the 8-disc box set for the Royals instead of the single disc and it was not included. Still a pretty cool set, but IDK if I would pay over $50 for it.
  5. They will save gold trimmed jerseys for the home opener, but I wish they would wear road versions for the series in St. Louis as well. Or, they could pull a Giants, Indians, Cardinals and just have World Champions on the front. http://toddradom.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/1906-GIANTS_01.jpg http://toddradom.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/1921-INDIANS_1927-CARDINALS.jpg
  6. I kind of want that NYT Cubs lose print.
  7. I just now went back and read the posts during the 10th inning. My last few days have been whirlwind awesome. I was able to watch Game 7 with two other Cubs fans that I have met since moving to Kansas City. After it was over I had crying FaceTime conversations with my family. I got maybe 4 hours of sleep that night. 6:00 PM Thursday three of us left KC and picked up my brother along the way getting into a dive of a hotel in Joliet after 2:00 AM. There were other Cubs fans checking in at that same time from Iowa. Woke up at 7:00 AM. Had to park many blocks away from the Midway CTA station as all lots were full. Took the El to our hotel downtown to drop off bags. Tried to get into the rally. Could not make it into the interior area where you could actually see the rally. We were exhausted, so we decided to go to a bar to watch. Incredible decision. When we walked in there were maybe 10 people in the bar. 10 minutes later there were a few hundred. Tried to go to Wrigley on the red line and saw that was going to be impossible, so we took the brown line instead. Wrigley was more crazy FRIDAY AFTERNOON than the Mizzou campus was when the Cardinals won the World Series. Grabbed a few pictures and some merchandise and headed back downtown. Walked the streets smoking cigars and slowly adding to our merchandise collection as we walked. Left Saturday morning and stopped in Springfield to purchase a KB jersey with the WS patch. Discussed our favorite moments pre-2016, 2016 regular season and then favorite moments in each round. Over 1000 miles and like 17 hours in the car. And that's the third time I've done that in the last 5 weeks. I also flew it a fourth time. Chicago, you were everything I ever imagined you would be during and after our title run. WE JUST WITNESSED THE GREATEST SPORTS MOMENT OF OUR LIVES AND MAYBE THE GREATEST BASEBALL GAME IN MLB HISTORY AND WE WON! Cubs win!
  8. I had some pretty salty posts after the Mets beat us last year.
  9. Yesterday the nerves set in at 4:30 PM for me. I'm way past nervous right now.
  10. We're leaning towards Bryant anyway. He just needs to solidify it, but Bryant Kyle wouldn't be bad.
  11. I also want to say that the name of my unborn child may be decided by what happens in this game.
  12. If anybody wants to feel as confident as I do right now go listen to the song the Cubs use in their intro video - Warriors by Imagine Dragons like 10 straight times.
  13. Win this one and then I like regular rest Hendricks versus short rest x2 and seeing the same lineup for the third time in 9 days Kluber.
  14. This World Series I have been so positive during the day and then so negative during the games.
  15. Really worried our inability to hit Tomlin is going to cost is this game.
  16. I'm afraid this game is going to end up putting me in a very bad mood. Pretty aggravated we haven't done anything against Tomlin yet.
  17. Cannot wait to see how many Cubs fans are on my flight tomorrow and then how much Cubs gear will be at the airport and on the El.
  18. Man, 2 runs off Bauer who is flapping in the wind just does not feel like enough.
  19. The annoying sign guy last night had similar signs for their other postseason opponents. Including 1986 Chokers for the Red Sox. You know, the organization with 3 WS titles in the last 12 or 13 years. He also had 1985/2014 Chokers for the Blue Jays. Assuming because they lost to the Royals both of those seasons. Really curious what his plan was if the Giants made the World Series.
