  1. Drove 3/4 of the way from KC to St Louis with 4 other guys only to have to turn around. Sucks we didn't get to see the champs, but rehashing every moment of the 2016 season along the way was still a great time.
  2. Bucket list item: sit in the front row just past the dugouts. Those seats are crazy close.
  3. Easily the most chill I have ever been after the Cardinals walkoff the Cubs.
  4. That was scored a H? Cardinals scoring is hilarious. Fully convinced some of the GG were due to depressed E stats for their players.
  5. http://www.plowboysbbq.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/BBQ-Nachos.jpg These people that have won tons of American Royal BBQ awards decided to open a restaurant just down the street from our new house right after we moved in. The BBQ nachos are awesome. I was really hoping we would wear gold trim for the opening series in St. Louis... Last year the Royals wore their gold trim for every Friday home game. I'd like the Cubs to do something similar.
  6. [bbvideo=560,315]https://youtu.be/bTMbj4WrnQw[/bbvideo] I didn't see this posted anywhere else and didn't know where to put it. I think this video puts into perspective how different baseball is for us now, and I love it.
  7. Well, crap... I was taking care of a 1 week old and a 2 year old at the time I was reading his post and totally missed it. Apologies.
  8. Please don't take this as a complaint, Bukie, because this is all awesome. One moment that I'll never forget that is not on this list was seeing Arrieta, Lester and Lackey walk out to the bullpen during Game 7. [bbvideo=560,315] [/bbvideo] This shows part of it, but there was also a shot of the relievers and starters all high fiving each other when they got to the bullpen. Most dramatic walk from the dugout to the bullpen I've ever seen.
  9. Set it to record about a week ago and put an extra hour on because of the Blackhawks game. But since we have a new baby both my mom and mother-in-law were over last night and somehow them watching American Housewife on demand made it stop recording 5 minutes in... We're supposed to be able to record 4 things at once. Good thing it's back on Thursday.
  10. Ha! Looked forever to find one that showed the whole thing. Thanks
  11. At 3:47 PM on Monday, March 20 my wife delivered our son, Bryant. I guess I need to pick up one of these for him. Looks like I already have another Sports Illusrated to buy for his collection.
  12. The Javy tags will be glorious.
  13. That was a fun box to get.
  14. I can generally remember what the greatest moments are that I saw from home because my very well behaved, therapy dog trained labrador growls and barks at me and stands between me and my wife like she needs to protect my wife from this crazy person that is otherwise her best friend. I'll save you a few Packers moments. Cubs moments: Javy HR NLDS Game 4 2015. Last out of Game 4 NLDS 2015. (She was sleeping in the 9th inning of Game 4 of the 2016 NLDS). Montero Slam. Russell Slam.
  15. Now that would have been a fun day.
  16. 10/22/16 - Cubs win the pennant. (Third year in a row I saw a team win the pennant: Royals, Mets, Cubs). 10/29/16 - Game 4 of the World Series. Really sucked, but I still got to see a World Series game at Wrigley. 10/7/16 - NLDS Game 1. 10/8/16 - NLDS Game 2. 5/13/96 - First game at Wrigley. My dad taught me how to keep score. Steve Trachsel gave up a lead off double to Brian Hunter. My dad turned to me and said, "there goes the no hitter." That was the only hit the Astros got. Cubs won 6-0. 9/27/15 - My son's first game at Wrigley. Arrieta and Wood combine for a one hitter. Like father like son. 8/26/03 - Cubs with recent additions from the Pirates beat Cardinals at Busch with Mark Prior on the mound. Featured in Three Nights in August. 7/26/05 - Greg Maddux 3000K. 7/27/09 - Soriano walk off grand slam. 8/29/14 - Jorge Soler hit 2 HR for career HR #2 and #3. One of them still has not landed. 9/6/15 - Bryant hits a 495 foot HR. Montero hits a grand slam. All during my dad's surprise 50th birthday trip. 6/9/99 - Cubs lost in Arizona, but Sammy hit one of the longest HR I've ever seen off of Randy Johnson. 10/2/04 - Sammy's last game as a Cub and his franchise record 545th HR. 9/28/15 - Cubs and Royals. 2 teams I love play extras and it ends in a walkoff HR for a postseason tuneup. 8/4/08 - Tornado game where Berkman freaked out. 8/5/95 - First Cubs game I can remember. Cubs beat Cardinals 1-0 at Busch Stadium on a Scott Servais solo HR. I still remember it landing to my right. 10/21/15 - First Cubs postseason game I have attended. Mets win the pennant. 5/6/98 - Haha. Just kidding. But I know someone who was there who had season tickets at the time. They had 4 pristine tickets stubs from that game that Kerry Wood signed for them. They gave me one of them and it's my most prized possession. Non Cubs 9/30/14 - Leave the Wild Card Game during the Royals comeback because my wife went into labor with our son. Finished watching in the delivery room. 10/15/14 - Royals win the pennant. 8/10/03 - Braves lose to Cardinals, but Rafael Furcal pulled off the 12th unassisted triple play in MLB history. 10/28/14 - Royals win Game 6 of the WS 10-0. Yordano Ventura pitches the game of his life. 10/3/12 - Miguel Cabrera wins the Triple Crown. 6/20/04 - Ken Griffey, Jr. HR #500. I haven't been to many NFL games (6), but I've been lucky when it comes to seeing history. 11/28/96 - Marcus Allen breaks all time rushing TD record. 12/16/07 - Brett Favre breaks all-time passing yardage record.
  17. I also was at the walkoff slam. Landed just to my right. Oh, and I live in Kansas City, which means I made 4 trips to Chicago in 5 weeks (parade). But I've planned for that month my whole life... Also means I was at the 2014 Wild Card game, the first time the Royals won the pennant and Game 6 of the 2014 World Series.
  18. This game was probably generally more exciting, but watching WS Game 5 in the bleachers with the KB homer and 2 2/3 innings of nothing but tension from Chapman was absolutely nuts as well. I would imagine any home playoff win this year would go down as the best game you'd ever been to though. I was fortunate enough to go to Games 1 and 2 of the NLDS, Game 6 of the NLCS and Game 4 of the World Series.
  19. At the risk of being extremely obvious, that game is the best game I've ever attended.
  20. Oh wow. I had no idea. I'm so glad I saw this today. The guy I played catch with on my high school team every day for three seasons passed away unexpectedly 8+ years ago. His birthday is February 29. Every time I play catch with anybody else I always think of him.
  21. The announcers in yesterday's game were both working Game 7 but not on the live radio call for the Indians. So they were in the park but not in front of a television. The one guy said he hasn't a watched a single highlight of that game this offseason (inferring because it would hurt him to watch them) until those ones they were showing yesterday during the broadcast.
  22. This team is so good that Anthony Rizzo has 0 votes out of the first 18 voters.
