  1. Games 2, 3 and 5 are probably the most confident games for me considering the likely pitching matchup. I'll probably feel pretty good about any game 6 matchup as well. Also, a rested Hendricks versus another short rest start for Kluber would make me confident. Shoot, even Lackey throwing in his only start of the World Series versus a short rest Kluber makes me happy. We're winning this thing.
  2. I trust our scouts who have actually been watching him do whatever he has been doing the last few months.
  3. In regards to the watch parties, since the amusement tax on Cubs tickets go towards three other professional arenas in the city maybe they should use some of those.
  4. Yeah. I sold my game 5 tickets for more than my entire season package + postseason strip. My wife is also trying talk me into buying a cheaper ticket for myself to games 3 and 5 with the money we made on the one game I sold.
  5. I would think best case scenario for the Cubs would be for Game 1 to be played as scheduled and Game 2 to get played Thursday. You could start Hendricks in Game 2 and he could be ready for a Game 6 start just like the NLCS. Also, 4 consecutive days with games will make it harder for the Indians to throw Miller/Allen so many innings.
  6. I didn't cry at the stadium, but I did when I went to bed that night. I did again when I rematched last night. They were just a few small tears. This morning I woke up and walked into the closet and saw my "Raise the Flag" shirt hanging and I started sobbing loudly.
  7. My grandfather. The first Cubs fan in our family. He passed away when I was one. They lived in Rockford at the time. He is buried there. My family hasn't had ties to the Rockford area since the early 1990s when my grandma moved away. I was interviewed by a Rockford TV station in the stands after the clincher. People who haven't seen me since his funeral in 1989 were messaging my dad on Facebook asking if this late 20s kid with the same name was indeed my dad's son. I don't remember my grandfather, but I know my dad and uncle were having a hard time not being able to talk to him Saturday night. I think I'm going to do the thing where I bring his picture to Game 4 in my ticket lanyard. Go Cubs Go!
  8. This is incredible. A World Series thread... You mean you fools didn't clear out your schedules 4 months ago for this week?
  9. I will be there all weekend. Have tickets for Game 4. Wife is trying to coax me into buying tickets for Games 3 and 5 with the money I've made off of selling our good seats for Game 5.
  10. I cannot believe I went to that game! It was the most fun ever! Took a selfie with Willson Contreras afterwards and walked through the concourse with just Pat Hughes, my brother and I after the game and talked about how excited we were with Pat. Absolutely amazing night!
  11. I can't believe that I am going to attend a baseball game where the Cubs can win the pennant.
  12. I'm not staying it's ok to be freaking out, but it's not just that the Cubs are down 2-1. It's the ridiculously awful offense compounded by the ridiculously awful offense in last year's NLCS. Does last year have any bearing on our chances this year? No. Does it make this year more frustrating? Yes. All is well (for now) with a win tonight, but don't be surprised when people are hesitant to be positive after the last two games. For the record I'm freaking out but wish I wasn't.
  13. Lower AVG and OBP than the 2015 NLCS. Didn't know that was possible.
  14. I really wish I could keep myself from being as angry as I am. But we've been watching a whole lot of suck out of our offense in the postseason going back to last year's NLCS. It's beating me down.
  15. Being down 2-1 is not the end of the world, but the offense is very very worrisome.
  16. Yeah, my brother and I are going to Game 6 if there is one. Before the series we were trying to decide on Game 1 or holding out for Game 6. We agree that best case scenario if there is a Game 6 is that Kershaw pitched Game 5 to save their season.
  17. I want Allen and Miller to throw a ton of innings in close games that the Indians just barely keep losing and then they win in Game 7 but both those guys have dead arms.
