My 11yo son's a huge Baez fanatic, to the point of getting a blonde mohawk and temporary MLB logo tattoos for the back of his neck during youth baseball season. Of course, he was a huge Castro fan before that, so I don't know if he's the norm. The Cubs really should sell a Javy Baez temporary tattoo pack at Wrigley. MLB logo and World Series champions logo. Also, I now really want to put a temporary MLB tattoo on my 3 year old for his t-ball game next week.

I was wondering today, what is the average cost per plate appearance across the major leagues? If you figure the product the owners are selling are plate appearances, and the cost for them to provide them are the salaries of all the players being paid. It comes out to $24-25k/plate appearance. And that doesn’t include front office, scouting, coaching staff, travel costs, etc.

I know it's a minor nitpick, but it annoys me to see the Pirates hitter rounding second for the triple as the ball is coming in. Your run is irrelevant, but what if there's a cut-off and quick tag that gets you before the winning run crosses the plate? Yes. There are many times at the end of games in walkoff situations where runners are doing some stuff that really doesn’t make any sense.

Definitely in the camp of, “dang I wish they were still letting this idiot screw things up,” but I’m also going to enjoy that their organization is at the point that they are doing something like this. First time this 30 year old has experienced them firing a manager.
