  1. Please tell me you are joking. Why? The whole "they played so they know better" line is a bunch of bull-puckey. I have no doubt that Lou is probably better at managing a 25 man clubhouse, practices, and all the other crap that a manager has to do than any of us in here probably could. But when it comes to in-game moves, I can think of 5-10 guys here off the top of my head I'd rather have making moves than lou. Actually your first line is pure bull-puckey, because I never said or insinuated any such thing. Pure fabrication on your part. To assume that anyone on here knows any more about statistics than Lou, or anyone on the Cubs coaching staffs is just plain laughable. And to say that Lou is PROBABLY better at managing a 25 man clubhouse than anyone on here is even more laughable. In fact, if i were you, I would be embarrassed. This is really too far out there to even argue any further. Believe what you want. I can always use the laugh. I don't really agree with that statement, but Alan Trammel is one smart dude.
  2. Your loss. You're only about a ten minute drive from everything. I really like KC. Sure it doesn't have the neighborhood like some parks, but thats not the sole reason I visit a park. The ballpark looks amazing. They have started to turn around their minor league system too. Exciting times should be ahead. My first Royals game was a meaningless September game in 2006. There was a large crowd for fireworks night. The Royals had a late rally and the atmosphere was actually very electric. I really would enjoy to see pennant race baseball there.
  3. It was so strange. Today they were showing Harry Caray announce the Cubs '84 division title. It made me miss Caray. It reminded me of a Phillies game I was paying attention to last week. Kalas called it of course. I got on ESPN.com five minutes later and see he's dead. My dad called me later that day and told me a pitcher died that used to pitch on the Tigers in the '70s and was real good for a short time. He didn't think I would know who it was, but I asked if it was the Bird. He said yes. I immediately thought of what they were talking about during the 'Stros game. It was so weird.

  5. Actually, since the Cubs are in the same division as the Reds he's probably ecstatic. This means Soriano will most assuredly not score this inning b/c the sacks are clogged.
  6. While going to school here at Mizzou I discovered the awesome, cheap experience of Kauffman Stadium. Now, it is even better. I went today to see Sabathia beat up on the Royals. The stadium is gorgeous. There are so many new things in the park that I like. There's an area called the Pepsi Party Deck. It's just two long rows of SRO in right field that are amazingly good for BP balls. I didn't get one today, but the two people to my left and two of the three to my right got a ball. The "Duck Seats" are day-of-game only and are $7, which is awesome considering they're decent OF seats. The scoreboard is amazing. They made a dumpy old stadium really neat. A couple cool promotions: Friday and Sunday 4-packs. 4 UD infield seats cost $60 and come with $40 to spend at the concession stand or gift shop. Sunday: any fan any age can go out on the infield after the game. Saturday the park opens 3 hours before game time so you can watch the Royals take BP instead of just the visitors.
  7. I'm looking forward to seeing the New Kauffman Stadium. I'm going tomorrow, so I'll get to see for myself.
  8. So you got a picture of Harden from when he was on the A's and changed it to a Cubs uni even though there are pictures of him in a Cubs uni already, but then you used a Cards picture of Looper...
  9. The bats need to wake up. They didn't even have many scoring chances tonight. Pitching was pretty good.
  10. That first pitch to Pence may have been a ball, but it was great location.
  11. There have been three bang bang plays at first today and all have gone the Astros way. I have always thought that Miller has made his calls too quickly. If you go back and watch the Dempster play you will see that he was very quick with it. I think Dempster was out, but that's just not a good way to call a game.
  12. At least we tied it up. I like our 'pen over theirs.
  13. Why take him out of his game? Let him get on and let the power hitters clean up. More wishful thinking than smart baseball thinking...
  14. Theriot needs to take advantage of the few times he has a chance to hit a homer, like now. Short porch, power pitcher.
  15. It wasn't a hit-and-run. It was 3-2. Bradley's decision to swing were not based on whether or not the runners were going.
  16. I know it's just the second game, but having your 2 and 3 holes walk to leadoff an inning and not getting anything out of it is frustrating. I wouldn't give Rammy much here.
  17. for me, one of the best parts about it was a guy i went to high school with (wouldn't call him a friend) kept updating his facebook... "three more outs, come on not-izzy!!!" then "alright two more" then "one more to go woooo"... then nothing. absolutely nothing. it was priceless. Ya I got a text sayng "Ludwick baby" after his HR. I responded with "Yea its to bad for you your bullpen still has to try getting 3 more outs, we know how well that worked last year". He says "whatever its a new year". Then Motte blows it, and I sent him "may be a new year, but its still the same "crappy" bullpen". He hasnt text me back all night lol Since I have many Cubs and many Cardinals fans as friends on facebook I got one rash of, "Oh no! Not again!" and then later in the day, "Way to go Cubs! 1-0!" All in all a very good day.
  18. I'm watching now. Do you have any idea what started it?
