    Well, I bought tickets for this series figuring I would get to see at least two wins out of three. Boy was I wrong. To rub it in even more, in 2007 I went to a game the day after my last final to watch the Buccos (headed by Gorzo) beat our Loveable Losers. So this Thursday I finish a final and drive the 6.5 hours to Chicago to get up and go to the game on Friday where Gorzellany is pitching for the Cubs against the Pirates. And, Gorzellany pitches horrible and the Cubs lose. Grand. Please win one.

    Didn't read the thread so I don't know if this was mentioned, but Quade has been horrible at times this year. Per ESPN: Also, I hate to nitpick on the decision of a batter on one single pitch, but the cajun connection sure let us down in the ninth. Fontenot swung at the 2-1 pitch that looked (from the bleachers) low and away, when he should be looking to coax a walk. Then, Theriot takes the 1-1 fastball right down the pipe in a contact situation. This team doesn't seem to understand situational hitting. The mental mistakes are so aggravating. Also, Dempster needs to stop walking people. That gets real old. Finally, when are the breaks going to go the Cubs way? So many more hard-hit balls today for the Cubs, not to mention they outhit the opponent (again) and lost. I hate this team.

    Lilly left 7 men on base. 2 out RISP situations for your pitcher are to be expected when you put your two best OPS in the 6th and 7th spot. I know it's just average, but I don't feel like looking up OPS on the guys. I noticed that at the conclusion of the game 6 of the 9 spots in the lineup has averages over .300. The three that didn't: 3,4,5...

    Wasn't even going to watch tonight. Had studying to do. Got bored and turned it on just in time for the meltdown. I hate this team so much right now. And now I have to go study again for my 8:00 am final. How does Lou not get tossed in a game like tonight?

    This team has got to be one of the most infuriating teams to watch. I know the Mets are up there the last few years, but the expectations vs. results for this team are so, so bad. As said before, probably not a playoff team, but they are much better than they are playing (at least they should be).

    Wow. I was expecting much less support for the cop in this thread. Magdal was the only one trashing him? Honestly, I'm on the fence on this one. There have been many instances where tasers have killed people that were committing minor offenses. In my opinion this is a minor offense, even if it is technically a felony. However, I understand the argument that we don't know if he was going to harm somebody. I have always thought that cops should have more leniency than they are given when it comes to using guns on fleeing suspects or those that could potentially harm others. I guess with that logic I have to support the cop in this instance, but it seems to me that they should have been able to tell that this guy was just a stupid teenager looking for airtime (which now he's getting).
