The wildcard bomb Schwarber pimped was amazing. Tonight though the electricity in that stadium, plus being a late inning bomb by Schwarber was just amazing. The place was absolutely shaking. It was followed by Wrigley blasting Whoomp There It Is.. which is the greatest post home run song there is. Boom Shakalaka Shakalaka Shakalakaa

Mlb network clearly showed Donaldson yelling F you at Kela twice after nearly taking him for a walkoff HR that went foul. Benches cleared for a second. Kela then struck him out. Ive missed caring this much about playoff baseball. Ive been pretty much just rooting against the Cardinals as my only playoff interest the last few years.

I think the move for that particular situation would be to swap who you have there. Russel at SS and Baez in CF. Baez said he would be open to a move to the OF and started taking some fly balls in Iowa before he was called up this past time. I base that mostly on body type and perceived athleticism. I believe Russell is a better athlete. I think if Baez was capable of playing CF they would have already tried him their at Iowa. I disagree. I think Baez is the more explosive athlete by a little bit & Russell is a,bit smoother. Ive been saying Baez as a darkhorse future CF all season now. The reason he hasnt been moved off is because SS was still very much up for grabs all year from him. You dont move a capable SS off SS till you absolutely have to. & any position he was goin to play at the MLB level this year was pretty much goin to be infield. Not to mention he missed a good chunk of time this year with his sister passing away & then breaking his finger later in the year. Im sure Cubs have at least contemplated what Baez in the OF would look like at some point but after the two extended times of missed playing time this year the obvious focus was on his bat, bat, & bat getting refined & comfortable in a defense spot that he would be helping the MLB roster with this year. -

Does anyone know what the process is like for Standing Room only seats & is it different for each stadium? Can you only stand in the upperdeck or can you stand in spots in the 100 level? Do you have to get there super early?

I dont know if this is the best spot to post this but.. The ESPN 1000 Radio shows at Chicago Cut today have been awesome. Even Kaplans midday show has been pretty decent. Arrieta did 1 hour with Carmen & Jurko.. it was phenomenal. Talked about his nutrition, working out, 2012 Orioles, Maddon, the young talent, all the pitches he throws & variations of it. Great Interview. Castro, Bryant and Hendricks have been on today as well with some nice insights. Silvy had a nice zing on Kaplan a couple seconds ago. Kaplan keeps yelling at everyone to take one pitch, one at bat, one inning at a time and never be nervous. Silvy started making fun of him, you're not the Coach Kaplan... you and your computer saying means nothing. LOL He does keep trying to force this one pitch quote of his on every show of his. Waddle said Kaplan brought it up like 5 times in an interview with Ryan Dempster recently..

Is there a link or quote of this? This sounds amazing, I want to know the story behind it. It happened multiple times with Javy and KB in AAA. Just stuff quoted after games on Twitter, but it was super apparent that Javy didn't bother learning your name unless you were a top prospect. They both referred to teammates as some guy? Lol I need to see these quotes.

He likely learned English by speaking it with others and not from a book like we would, so I imagine he probably types like he talks. Also, it's freaking awesome and he's great. Other than Lester just a little bit, there's really not one guy on the entire team who's unlikable. We learn English by speaking it well before we learn the rules of grammar from a book. Most toddlers & young kids speak a pretty "broken" up version of English. Then you to school 13+ years and are surrounded by mostly people who have also been in school 13+ years refining their grammar & speaking skills.

Went to high school with Foltynewicz. He was a Freshman my Senior year but up on Varsity as a Freshman. Havent seen him in years but he was always a good kid, pretty humble. I could see the Cubs having some trouble with the K's tonight cause he does throw heat. Not sure how he's been pitching (think he was just brought up from AAA) or if he has been racking up strikeouts but he does have some wicked stuff.

I legitimately can't decide whether umpires have always been this inconsistent and we are just more aware of it now due the amount of information (Pitch Trax, etc.) that is available to us. Or are umpires truly calling games more inconsistently now than they have in the past? They were even worse in the past. Totally made up zones in the old days was considered apart of an umpire's personality..

I don't know. I hate when people throw the "lacks concentration" thing at Castro but considering I've pretty much never seen an error like that, it does make you wonder. I'll go with "new position" as an excuse this time I guess You've never seen someone drop a ball covering 2nd? Pretty sure Russel did this once earlier this year & just like dropped popups sometimes it happens.
