  1. If you're gonna pitch Howry, might as well be today. I hate when Lou gets Woody in for "some work", it seems to bite them in the butt cause what if we need Woody for every game in the Brewer series.
  2. I never expected it (the dominance) to last very long. Why would he struggle through the minors (though he started finding his way in Iowa) and suddenly be lights out in the majors? I'm glad he's having a nice run and he's got some nasty movement on his pitches, but Kevin Hart was unhittable last year, too. It's gonna take me a bit longer to be sold on him as a MLB pitcher. Getting hit hasn't been the problem though, he's been wild and walking too many, and we know how much Lou loves those walks. He may get a talkin' to.
  3. Nice Carlos. Kind of worried about Jeff though, he's looked a bit shaky lately.
  4. Go talk to him Geo, but just move your mouth.
  5. Theodore Roosevelt Lilly... =D> A job well done. =D>
  6. I think Ted might pitch the 8th, then to Samardijza for the first out of the 9th, Marmol for the second out, and Woody for the third. Gotta get 'em some work don't they?
  7. After seeing that "Error" again on replay, the ball was smoked, but Rami makes that play more times than not so...?
  8. Ok, good game Ted. Now get Marmol/Samardjiza up.
  9. A Milwaukee Scorer!!!! Freaking Hilarious!
  10. CC, Sheets and Parra vs. Dempster, Harden and Marquis, I think. Dempster, Marquis, Harden actually.
  11. I saw one of the ESPN BBTN guys, I think Phillips, the other day still arguing that it was going to be a close vote for ROY between Votto and Soto. The only thing similar to their overall year's is that their names rhyme. Not to say Votto isn't a good player, but seriously.
  12. GEOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Ok, now this is getting fun!
  13. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the travel time to the ballpark roughly the same for both teams today? ;)
  14. And have your helmet blasted off your head in your next at-bat. I gaurantee you Ted is the type of guy would that. YAAAA! D LEE!!!!
  15. He kind of reminds me of a [expletive] Freddy Kruger.
  16. Berkman got about a half step out of the batters box on that one! I hope SPECIAL ED (Hunter) doesn't try to lay one down.
  17. Eh, I would think just the opposite. May light a fire for the rest of the year knowing noone is safe and everybody has to fight for a job. Frankly, I hope they pick it up enough to win the WC because I really would rather not play the Phils in a 5 game series. Even though we'd get the first 2 at home, vs anyone, I agree. Much rather have to face LAD in the NLDS before Philly. Anyone else noticed the Phillies are only a game back of the Mets and a cakewalk schedule the rest of the way? I think the WC race will be between the Brewers, Mets, and Astros in the next few days, with the Phillies winning the East.
  18. Eh, I think Trammell would be the better successer, IMHO. *shrug* I agree that Trammell would be the better successor to Lou. I mean I like Bob and he is a funny man, but he didn't win the 2001 World Series, he rode Randy Johnson/Curt Schilling to the title. Trammell was put in charge of arguably the worst talent roster in the history of baseball. I think Trammell should be given a 2nd shot with a team with legit MLB talent.[/quote] Seconded.
  19. Big Z's post game with Len and Bob... http://www.chicagotribune.com/video/?slug=chi-080914cubs-wn
  20. Lou in his post game said that he wanted to keep Big Z around 90 pitches...He said if he was going to pull him he "was going to make Alan (Tramell) do it" ...I love Lou!
  21. http://blogs.chron.com/hurricanes/2008/09/minute_maid_park_suffers_minor.html Way to have your priorities in order there Bobby!
  22. Won't know for sure until tomorrow but this is promising. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080912&content_id=3463897&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc
  23. Jim Edmonds curtain call at Wrigley against the Cardinals is my favorite moment. Talk about rubbing it in. It was beautiful. Also the Cubs were losing their grip on the Central lead in late July against the Marlins, the last game right before the "Milwaukee Massacre" series, down 5-0 early thanks to Marquis, the Cub fought back and Mike Fontenot supplied the clutch bases loaded double to take the lead. Cubs Win 9-6 and "take their bats to Milwaukee" as Lou stated. Lou's "You think I'm stupid or something?" snap to reporters questioning his decision to leave Soriano in defensively late in a ballgame.
  24. Barry Rozner's Daily Herald article is his opinion of the situation and purely speculation, and the Chi-Ball blog is full of crap. I won't believe any of this unless I here it directly from Cuban, Zell, or Kenney. SORRY MARK, we still love you... =D> :yahoo:  :hello: :clapping:
