  1. Which would be quite disappointing from your closer
  2. Flip Yates and Robertson and I think that's more or less where I am and even the Yates/Robertson thing I could be talked out of it.
  3. This would be such a Cub move. They don't pony up for the elite rp, but they'll give a multi year deal to a guy who was mediocre 3 of the last 4 years rather than just sign Robertson to a 1 year deal.
  4. On deep balls sure. I'm also about 99% positive he was instructed not to risk the ball at all which is why he constantly overthrew all the deep balls.
  5. Thoroughly enjoying that the Cubs are not going to flex their financial muscle and they're also not going to get all the extra picks and international cap space the "small" markets do. The worst of both worlds.
  6. Well Jed tried really hard, so there's that at least.
  7. I'd be surprised if he has a panel. He dodged it the last couple years.
  8. At this point I'd be surprised if it's anyone of that tier.
  9. The convention where fans chanted Mancini's name tells you all you need to know about your average convention attendee.
  10. Trace Armstrong more or less runs the Bears
  11. It is going to be painful that perhaps 3 guys the Cubs traded are all ranked higher than the highest ranked Cub prospect come the midseason report.
  12. So obviously every RB benefits from a good OL, but Swift is a guy who would benefit even more because all he does is look to hit the homerun. He never just takes the 1 or 2 yards that are there. He causes an absurd amount of 2nd and 10+ scenarios. I'd love to dump him if they could without much of a cap hit.
  13. If they pass up Will Campbell for a tackle coming off an injury, I will be rather displeased.
  14. Because we hadn't specifically heard from both Marlin and the article posted on here about Tom's financial issues bringing a lot of doubt that the existing money is spent.
  15. Yes they brought back Bellinger, which was more or less necessary so that they weren't marching out a worse team in 2024 than they were in 2023. The results ended up being the same.
  16. You expect more than me. Every time I have expectations for Jed he falls well below them. At this point I think we've more or less got the roster you're going to see at spring training. Maybe a couple more pieces of roster fodder, but I doubt there's anyone of any actual impact.
  17. Not terribly different for me. I have Tier 1( Guys who have an established history of putting top tier offenses together) Johnson Monken Brady Tier 2(Guys with a history of coaching success) Carroll,McCarthy Tier 3(Guys who are wildcards or guys who are very good defensive coaches but don't fit the Bear's needs) Flores, Kingsbury, Glenn, Coen Tier 4(Guys I would be livid if they hired) Rivera, Kafka, Arthur Smith,
  18. If they had no intentions of extending Tucker nor using the remaining money to build around Tucker with premium talent in 2025 then let's call it what it is, a horrific mistake. Giving up years of control with Paredes and a guy with immense offensive upside for a season in which, yet again, they're trying to sneak into the playoffs is nothing short of stupid.
  19. I think that's extremely dubious at this point.
  20. Is Henry a top 5 RB of all time? He's 1300 yards from breaking into the top 10 all time for rushing yards, but he's doing it at 4.9 YPC
  21. Some really bad takes in here, but these 2 stand out to me. 1. Why would they extend Steele? He's going to be almost 32 before he hits FA. What's the rush to throw money at that? 2) Alcantara is underwhelming? He's an above average defender at a premium defensive position who put up 125 and 124 wRC+ over the last 2 years across AA and AAA in his age 21 and 22 season.
  22. In a offseason in which the Cubs had 60M to spend, their big signing is going to be Matt Boyd. That's almost impossibly awful.
  23. If they can get Will Riley's shot straightened out, I'd put them up there with any team in the nation.
  24. Unconn has now lost their 4th game. Came we please drop them out of the horsefeathers top 10 for a while?
