    How can you hit a ball that soft and still get doubled up? Kelly is incredibly slow.

    I'd agree. He's not an upgrade over any of Cabrera, Shota, Boyd and he wont be over Steele if they get him back. The whole point of getting another starter is someone you'll actually use in playoff games.

    The problem is what do the Mets need from the Cubs. I'm sure they'd love a 2B, but they're stuck with Semien for a long time. Bo Bichette is locked in at 3B and Lindor is locked in at SS. Who are the Cubs going to give up?

    Is it a hot take to say I want Pedro to take over the Shaw utility role and Shaw can just stick to RF in 2027?

    If there's a go for it year, this is it with all of Seiya, Happ, Kelly, Shota, Boyd, Taillon, etc. set to leave in FA. Even if we pretend the lockout in 2027 isn't inevitable, you're looking at a 2027 rotation of Steele,Horton(Eventually), Cabrera and some combination of Rea/Assad/etc? Assuming Wiggins is healthy enough to fill a spot is a pretty bad idea right now. I want a young controllable arm instead of a rental like Ryan, Alcantara, etc, but who is out there for the taking? Who has a desperate need for IF because between Rojas/Ramirez/Triantos they've got plenty of value to give. KC? MIN?

    Not so hot take, but if Poles does not add a good EDGE and the dline falls on its face again this year he should be fired. I don't care if they make the NFC Championship game. 3 years he has had to address it and in 3 years he has not improved it at all either through complete neglect like 2026 or through a drastic overpay like Grady Jarrett and Dayo Odeyingbo.

    Just grab one of Clowney/Jordan/Miller, don't over think this.

    In short, it's time to cash in on that chip. If he can be the lead piece to get a young controllable arm, then great.

    The funny part is they almost have to trade him at the deadline. He's on a 2 year deal and with a likely work stoppage in 2027, they won't get anything for him if they don't. They could always extend him but he's going to want 2 to 3x a bigger contract than the White Sox have ever given and that's incredibly unlikely.

    If Shota is anywhere near this performance level by the end of June, I'm all for throwing 2/50 at him and see if he bites.

    Got to keep winning to keep pace with what seems to be the greatest division in the history of baseball. Still so salty we're about 1/5 of the way through the season and every damn team is .500 or better in the NL Central.

    He also missed most of training camp and wasn't involved in like the first 5 to 6 games of the season. I'd much rather have Loveland at this point.

    Cam Jordan had 10.5 sacks last year, he can't be too cooked.

    He's a very very good 6th man and a solid starter, he's had a very nice career so far.

    So, why is Zxvian Harris available and why didn't a team desperate for DL like the Bears take him?
