So Marmol either is or will be a superstar...but you declare he won't net the Cubs much in return. Hey, it's great that you can have it both ways. Stop lumping in a guy whose ceiling is being a closer with Soto, Cashner and Castro. Marmol's kicked ass, but it's extremely unlikely that he'll pan out to be some kind of freak that has a long effective career. I also like how you bemoan the Cubs having Soriano, like he's terrible for them this season. Just stick to your usual ridiculous video game trade suggestions. You need to get off the video games if you think Marmol is going to net you very much in return. Relief pitchers (even great closers) don't net you great returns. So what's the point in trading him if he's young, affordable, and outstanding? I don't "bemoan the Cubs having Soriano", but you must be the only person on this board who doesn't want him (and his contract) traded. The only reason I listed Soriano as a player to keep is because no team will take him, so there's no use in pretending that he won't be part of the 2011 Cubs. Did you see what Sherrill brought the O's last year? I would absolutely love to land a prospect the likes of Josh Bell.

I'm unironically rooting for the Reds to win the World Series too bad Adam Dunn isn't there anymore Eh, of the teams close right now I want either the Twins or the Padres. Id go with the Rangers, just because, but I would complain if the default world champion Yankees did it again. Besides, my earliest baseball memories are of Yankee stadium, Reggie Jackson, and mini baseball helmet sundays .My first ball game was Yankees/A's, which I remember because I remember my dad telling me the guys in the green are the bad guys. Id be leading a much happier baseball life had I stayed a Yankee fan. Yes but you'd also have become a huge tool.

I hate to jinx it, but the really shocking thing about this game is the lack of Bartman, Goat etc. ESPN usually salivates when they get the chance to talk about the curse.

Maybe McPhails dumpster diving is finally paying off. Im all for all of these guys sucess, especially when their on a team as irellevant as the Orioles. No matter what happens, I wont kick myself about Patterson as Washington and Milwaukee both quickly tried and gave up on him, and Fox was never of much use to us, but giving up on Pie when they did for nothing, essentially to make room for Aaron [expletive] Miles and Joey [expletive] Gathright is nothing short of perplexing. what really bothers me about Pie is the idea that he was given a chance with the Cubs and didnt perform. You mean after playing half of 2007 and a fourth of 2008 and we shipped him off when he was 24? Yeah, Ill say he got a fair shot. I'm hoping this is sarcasm but, 260 AB over a year and a half is not a fair shot. Getting 1 start a week is a horrible thing to do to a prospect. -

I didn't even notice Jered Weaver got snubbed too. 2.82 era, 8-3 record, 1.06 WHIP and he leads all of baseball in SO. There's just no way Bud can be seeing this and thinking the current system is successful. If they're going to allow this to continue then the game needs to be played as an exhibition with nothing on the line.

This ASG will be more of a joke this year than most. Votto has got to be one o the biggest snubs I've ever seen. Alex Rios and Konerko got snubbed pretty hard too, along with Youkilis and Mat Latos. Lots of really bad decisions this year.

So you feel we should build around Colvin, but Soto isn't quite up to par eh? Unless Colvin maintains one of the league's highest hr/fb ratios and an extrodinarily high babip we need to expect some major regression.
