  1. Sadly with the no brainers off the board the door is now open to do something dumb and justify it.
  2. If Sonny Gray is there at 9 will he be the pick?
  3. [expletive] [expletive] [expletive]
  4. God, Strasburg,Storen, Harper and Rendon in the last 3 drafts. That's a good decade let alone 3 year stretch.
  5. Rendon or Archie please make it to 9.
  6. That doesn't bother me too much.
  7. If they don't I will personally kick Hendry in his ass.
  8. The Orioles are in on Bundy right?
  9. It interrupts the Diamondbacks plans for their 7th pick.
  10. yeah this number 2 and number 7 pick are the huge ones on determine who is there for the Cubs.
  11. The only way I can fathom this being worse is if someone like Archie Bradley is still on the board when this abomination goes down.
  12. Wait, the Cubs were the ones who told on him? Is that true? The stupidity reaches a new level, just when I didn't think it could go any further. Well my thoughts are that this chain of events probably happened. Someone hears from a Cub insider that the Cubs are in on him which starts the rumor. Then the agent has to issue a letter saying my client isn't draft eligible, which in turn makes the commissioner's office have to make a ruling. If none of this happen it seems like the Cubs could have just signed him because based on comments it seems like the majority of the organizations had no idea he was draft eligible.
  13. So is it just me or does it seem like the Cubs could have just signed the guy instead of bringing light to the fact that he is draft eligible and using a draft pick on him?
  14. Well Tim I hope you're not banning anyone for expletives, because if this comes to fruition I need somewhere to vent. :banghead:
  15. Springer,Mahtook,Baez, Lindor and Meyer are starting to sound so very good to me.
  16. Why can't Wilken ever just take the talent that's there instead of trying to prove how damn smart he is? If he makes this pick he can follow Hendry out the door.
  17. - Kevin Goldstein This is a guy the publications hadn't mentioned till about an hour ago. - Keith Law Can my parents sue the organization for causing me to have an aneurysm 10 seconds after they announce this horrendous pick?
  18. I actually like their recruiting philosophy concerning Asia. They're getting tons of talent at less than half the price they'd have to pay for equivalent South American talent. The bang for the buck just isn't all that great in South America anymore.
  19. If Rosenthal has a better solution to the Cubs' need for a first basemen I'd love to hear it. Personally I'm not a fan of relying on the Lyle Overbays of the world until something falls in our laps.
  20. This is one of the most annoying things that I encounter with the no Pujols/Fielder crowd. Elite talent gets long term/high dollar contracts. That's just the way it is. Combine that with the fact that Tex is locked up, Agon is locked up , Votto will be locked up, Howard is locked up and Cabrera is locked up long term. That doesn't leave the Cubs a whole lot of options if they want an impact bat at 1B.
