Wait, the Cubs were the ones who told on him? Is that true? The stupidity reaches a new level, just when I didn't think it could go any further. Well my thoughts are that this chain of events probably happened. Someone hears from a Cub insider that the Cubs are in on him which starts the rumor. Then the agent has to issue a letter saying my client isn't draft eligible, which in turn makes the commissioner's office have to make a ruling. If none of this happen it seems like the Cubs could have just signed him because based on comments it seems like the majority of the organizations had no idea he was draft eligible.
