  1. This is why I have never cared about College football. It's absurd that a major conference team can go undefeated and still have zero chance to be a national champion.
  2. The NFC South is hilariously awful.
  3. For me it's kind of like this McCarthy: I think he's a career backup. He has a NFL quality arm. He can occasionally hit the big throw, but he's just so bland and boring the vast majority of the time. Penix: He's got an arm and he's going to flash, but I think he's going he's going to be constantly up and down given his mechanics/decision making. The upside is really high though. Maye: Highest upside in the draft as a pocket passer. He's got the arm, he can make all the throws, but because of that he makes a lot of throw he probably shouldn't. Decision making is his fatal flaw. Williams: Highest overall upside. He can play as a pocket QB or create on his own while scrambling out of the pocket. The problem is he takes it too far and tries to do too much and in the NFL that's going to lead to a lot of turnovers. Nix: I don't think there's a real high ceiling here, but I think he's a pretty safe pick, as far as QBs go, to be a roughly league average QB. He has a solid arm, and good decision making. Beck: Super accurate, good with the reads, but the arm isn't NFL caliber. He's the kind of guy who carves out a decade long career as a backup. Haven't seen enough of Sanders or Daniels to have an opinion.
  4. Dallas went on a 30-0 run in last night's game and still managed to lose. Also Doncic had an absolutely monster line of 36pts 15reb 18asst.
  5. I'd say the same of Yamamoto. Of the real big fish, it's looking like Ohtani or nothing.
  6. Yeah, I'm not at all interested in Penix in the draft. There's at least 5 QBs I'd have in front of him, possibly 6.
  7. I know he isn't your type of guy, but I'd quite like to take a chance on Tyler Freeman. The hit tool is plus, but the power is Madrigal like. Unlike Madrigal, I think there 10-15HR pop that can be unlocked.
  8. So TB is supposedly shopping Randy Arozarena. He has 3 years of arb control left. There isn't an immediate match with the Cubs, but I wonder if he could split time at 1B/DH. https://dodgersnation.com/rays-reportedly-shopping-randy-arozarena-should-dodgers-pursue-a-trade-tm1995/2023/11/29/
  9. If there is any validity to this, then there is no way a Soto deal gets done without SD drastically lowering their ask.
  10. I read that a day or two ago. Other teams want Derozan and Caruso, but not so much Zach despite the Bulls wanting Zach to be the one moved first.
  11. I wont get angry, but I'll expect them to have a very strong plan B to make up for it. If they come limping to the gate with a bunch of third tier FA, then I'll be mad.
  12. Watch, it's going to be something considerably more than it should be going back like Caissie.
  13. I'm not even sure he can hit as well as Dansby anymore. He was awful the last 2/3 of 2023.
  14. I can't think of about anything worse this offseason than signing Chapman to a 100M+ contract. That's going to be a disaster from year 1.
  15. So basically more of nothing.
  16. Yeah, if Olney knew, he'd have it plastered everywhere to get credit for breaking it.
  17. They've been attached to Yamamoto so much less than a handful of other teams, I'd frankly be pretty shocked if he ended up in Chicago.
  18. Please god don't let them miss Ohtani and then throw 200M at Bellinger.
  19. It would be supremely disappointing to miss all 3, but it wouldn't necessarily be a death sentence for 2024. What it would do is give very little to no margin for error in acquiring the 2nd and 3rd tier FA they need and getting creative with trades. With that said, if they miss all 3, I have very little confidence they'll do what needs to be done and the Cubs will enter 2024 with an over/under around 82-84.
  20. The odds are not going in a good direction
  21. I don't think I've ever seen a team acquire 4 new starting rotation members in a single offseason before.
  22. Yes, this is a more reasonable comparison than the Glasnow to Gilbert one earlier. I'd much rather add an additional big prospect and have Gilbert than pony up 2 of the top 10 for Cease.
  23. I can't envision a scenario under which Eberflus remains, barring ending with 7+ wins
  24. Those polls pretty much reflect my expectations. Eberflus and Getsy are gone, Pokes will stay and Fields will stay not necessarily on merit but more so because I think Poles would absolutely love to trade #1 again and acquire more picks.
