  1. I think NO is significantly better than their record, I don't think it's going to be all that close.
  2. I'm finding myself steadily moving to the point where I don't care where he signs anymore. I just want this done so something new can be talked about.
  3. There is absolutely no vetting process in the media anymore. The only thing that matters is posting hot takes and guesses as fast as possible.
  4. Correct, but it does make the margin for error significantly smaller
  5. So, do exactly what he did. Look I get it, you're mad he wont be a Cub, but this is just irrational.
  6. If he pulls a Lebron he's seeking attention for his ego, if he does the opposite and says he doesn't want do anything publicly he's seeking attention. The guy is in a no win scenario. The media is legitimately mad at him for how quiet he has been about this.
  7. Come on Jed, it doesn't have to be Ohtani, but give us something. It doesn't have to be huge, hell I'd be pretty excited if it was Robert Stephenson, just give us something.
  8. You've got them adding about 90M in 2024 between Ohtani/Hoskins/Chapman before they even think about SP/RP. It would be glorious, but there's just no way.
  9. I think the Saints handle them as well as Green Bay. Jacksonville will handle them too unless they have nothing to play for in the 2nd to last week, which is unlikely. I could see them beating Atlanta, but I think it's still kind of unlikely. The final game of the season against TB is where I think they have a decent shot of getting a win. If they surprise and pull off a win before TB, I'm going to be holding my breath during that game.
  10. If Ohtani is indeed headed to Toronto, the bidding war on Yamamoto is going to be crazy. You're going to have 3 desperate teams(LAD, NYY, NYM) all with extremely deep pockets trying to lure the last top tier piece of this offseason.
  11. It's going to be really close Carolina has (5-7) Saints (6-6) ATL (6-6) GB (8-4) JAX (5-7) TB NE has (8-4) KC (6-6) DEN (6-6) BUF (4-8) NYJ
  12. Hopefully it's more Montez Sweat than it is Chase Claypool
  13. I corrected, but forgot about 17 games this year.
  14. The only way they don't get the #1 is if Carolina wins 3 of the 4 remaining games and one of NE/ARI loses their remaining 4 games.
  15. NE doing their best to blow it.
  16. 21-3
  17. NE up 14-3, a win would just about wrap up the #1 for the Bears.
  18. They are, in fact, at a disadvantage if they don't choose to flex their financial muscle. The rest of the division is collecting competitive balance picks and I believe additional international funds as well.
  19. In many things. Cub free agency is not one of those.
  20. You don't pay a guy 100M+ knowing that you're going to have to mess with his swing.
  21. The optimist in my wants to believe that Jed lost Soto because he's far deeper in talks with Ohtani then we've been led to believe. The pessimist in my says, Jed completely misread Ohtani and in chasing the biggest prize when they were never a realistic get, ended up costing himself Soto as well.
  22. Looks like there was at least some validity to it https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2023/12/david-rubenstein-reportedly-in-talks-to-acquire-baltimore-orioles.html
  23. I think Kyle hijacked your account
  24. When your major market President acts like "winning the offseason" is a bad thing.
  25. Glasnow is not a FA. Hoskins is 3rd tier because he is coming off an injury and going to be signing on a 1 year prove it contract. In the past he has not been a 3rd tier player, but coming off the injury, that is where he is.
