  1. Pretty crazy that before today he was putting up a 137 wRC+ on a .207 babip. His FB% is crazy high so he's not going to carry a really high babip, but .207 is really low even in that scenario.
  2. I mean I get that they can't list current production as MLB equivalent otherwise he'd be like a 60 hit tool current, but 25 just seems unreasonable. I mean Alcantara and Caissie have 30s and they strike out at a much higher clip.
  3. My guess is the Mets ask for someone like Caissie/Ballesteros which is an immediate hang up the phone response if I'm Jed.
  4. Even at A+ last year it as only 19.5%. So while it has clearly taken a step forward this year, even last year it wasn't accurate. The grades have always been one of my big knocks on FG. They're fairly quick to update the FV, but tool grades are painfully slow to adjust if at all.
  5. Speaking of, it baffles me that FG still has his current hit tool as a 25 with future projections of 50. He's in AA with a 13.4K%, in what world is a 25 hit tool?
  6. If the asking price is like Alex Canario then sure, but I suspect given what Alonso means to the fans and because of his HR prowess, they're going to be seeking substantially more than that. I'm sure you could get JD Martinez far cheaper and he'd give you just as much production.
  7. He wanted a Freddie Freeman contract, at this point I'm not even sure I'd want him at 4/80
  8. in Seiya/Morel they have 2 guys who primarily should be DH, adding a third in Alonso just doesn't work. It especially isn't going to work if PCA starts seeing more playing time which means more Bellinger at 1B.
  9. Bellinger is the obvious, but I wouldn't be completely opposed to Nico depending on the type of talent he brings back. Like if LAD decided they were over Gavin Lux and were willing to ship out Rushing, one of Joendry Vargas/Jose De Paula and Maddux Bruns I wouldn't hang up.
  10. Ok, so who do the Cubs have on short deals that other teams might want? I'm struggling to come up with anyone.
  11. I'd agree there isn't much to sell, so basically just sitting on their hands is probably the move. I just don't want them using resources trying to bail out a team 10 games out of the division.
  12. If they're 10 games out of the division 2 weeks from now, I am not investing in a team that has a chance at a play in game.
  13. They need this sweep with them already being 7 games out of the division. They're on the verge of being sellers if they don't have a good next 2 weeks.
  14. Law has always been by far the high man on Alcantara; I'm pretty surprised by Shaw though.
  15. I don't advocate it as I'm more in the wait and see or even leaning towards selling, but, for fun, if I were to try and buy I'd probably do something like this Bregman+Caratini for Alcantara+Mervis+Arias= Caratini isn't a star, but he's a massive upgrade over what the Cubs have behind the plate this year. Bregman isn't hitting yet, but the defense still provides a lot of value and his babip suggests that the offensive numbers are going to improve. Hunter Harvey for Triantos+Canario
  16. It feels like Shaw is a week or two from Iowa.
  17. I guess the internet can stop panicking now
  18. Is using prospect resources on this team even a wise use of assets at this point? Personally, I'm leaning towards no.
  19. No one they get from the Mets is turning this around. They'd need to pull off 2 or 3 fairly big moves.
  20. Tryptamine

    PCA

Exactly, for example, Moises Ballesteros and his .782 OPS is the 7th highest OPS in the league right now. Matt Shaw's .752 OPS puts him in 13th.
  21. I'd take Caratini if Houston continues to underperform.
  22. Yeah, it looks bad. They wont have the payroll flexibility to add tier 1 guys and thus far the prospects have been pretty damn mediocre.
  23. Because he didn't have the guts to choose a direction, they now find themselves stuck in mediocrity with not a lot of realistic ways to move move forward.
  24. A week or two from being sellers and not a lot of pieces on short deals worth moving. Good times.
