  1. Absolutely absurd that he's averaging a triple double
  2. Honestly don't think this is so bad if the prospect coming back is decent. Obviously not a top 100 guy, but a guy that ends up in their 10-15 range. If they just want a straight salary dump with nothing coming back and the Cubs eating 7M, then go pound sand.
  3. I said it makes no sense because what you're gaining in RF, you're losing the vast majority of it at 3B. Especially if Cody is gone as well.
  4. What narrative? I'll go on record for what I think is a reasonable deal. I'd love to have Tucker, if it takes Paredes+Smith+Assad then by all means. The absurd Paredes+Seiya+Shaw packages are way beyond that. If he can't get a deal done on Tucker, so be it, but he better have something else up his sleeve that isn't a bench bat, a back of the rotation starter or a mid relief arm.
  5. I definitely do, it's more that I expect this Tucker hype to be the highlight of the offseason where the Cubs go from in talks of adding an MVP level player, but come opening day, it's going to be someone like Joc Pederson instead.
  6. I think we all know how this is going to end.
  7. I wonder if it's possible to get Beeter back in a deal. I'm not sure he's a SP long term, but damn he'd be an absolutely electric relief arm.
  8. With Hoyer, it's best to have no expectations, that way if he actually managed to do anything then you get to be surprised.
  9. Hopefully Jed isn't this dumb.
  10. Milner would be great.
  11. Bellinger would be why.
  12. Cheaters holding a grudge for being called cheaters.
  13. If the package is anything close to that, Jed should be fired on the spot and banned from ever working in another FO Why pay Soto 760M when you can give Tucker 500M, your best hitter who is under control for 3 more seasons, a top 10 3B under control for 3 more seasons and an MLB ready top 50 prospect.
  14. As I said before, if you trade Seiya and Paredes, whatever you gain in RF you're now losing almost all of it at 3B. Let alone throwing a top prospect on top of that for one damn year of Tucker.
  15. They don't need more depth though. They need someone to slot in front of Taillon.
  16. My guess is, if Paredes is gone, he's some insurance incase Shaw flops.
  17. Some pretty severe swing and miss issues, good glove, decent walks, too old for for his 140 wRC+ in AA to mean a lot. If they think they can alleviate some of those swing and miss issues, I don't hate it.
  18. Because the thing I quoted said "and" implying both not Paredes or Seiya
  19. Please for the love of god do not trade Paredes and Seiya for Tucker, that's amazingly counter productive.
  20. Yeah Houston you can get F'd, thanks.
  21. Yeah the Suzuki talk seems to be more like, hey he's available if you blow us away, otherwise he's on this roster opening day.
  22. Jed has been pretty enthralled with Alonso for 2 years now. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he tries to make it happen.
  23. In the modern MLB where 3B is a wasteland and just 6 months ago we were complaining about how bad 3B options were, I'm not looking to move on from a top 10 3B unless I'm getting full value. The Astros getting 3 years of a top 10 3B for 1 year of an admittedly much better player sounds reasonable. I'm not throwing a guy who could be a top 20 prospect in baseball 6 months from now on top of it.
  24. If it's like Cam Smith and Triantos, sure go for it. If it's Cam Smith on top of a guy who has been a top 10 3B over the last 3 years, then yeah no thanks.
  25. I'm almost dreading a Tucker trade if these asks are accurate. He's crazy good, but it's 1 year and then you have to lock him up for 400-500M, assuming he'll even be open to an extension.
