I think the seasons from Dempster and Edmonds are way more improbable than the seasons guys like Ludwick and Lohse are having. I'd say they are about equally improbable. Why Dempster? He was an All-Star with the Marlins before. The fact that he was an AS is meaningless. He's never pitched like he's pitched this year. He's on pace for a career year at 31, which isn't all that crazy, but, he's doing so 5 years after he last started. Ok, so the Cubs are just as fortunate and lucky as the Cards, and we have the championships to prove it. Seems you're saying the Cubs haven't won a lot of championships is because of bad luck rather than a whole lot of incompetence. Or, it seems that many people want to suggest that the Cubs catch as many breaks, and receive the same amount of unpredictable 'good' fortune as the Cards. Good fortune and luck associated with the Cubs is an absurdity.
