  1. Heh..what WS game did the Cubs get a bad call in lately? Oh, and 2006 Cards is my counter. I can't be the only one that remembers they have the worst WSC team of all time.
  2. I think the seasons from Dempster and Edmonds are way more improbable than the seasons guys like Ludwick and Lohse are having. I'd say they are about equally improbable. Why Dempster? He was an All-Star with the Marlins before. The fact that he was an AS is meaningless. He's never pitched like he's pitched this year. He's on pace for a career year at 31, which isn't all that crazy, but, he's doing so 5 years after he last started. Ok, so the Cubs are just as fortunate and lucky as the Cards, and we have the championships to prove it. Seems you're saying the Cubs haven't won a lot of championships is because of bad luck rather than a whole lot of incompetence. Or, it seems that many people want to suggest that the Cubs catch as many breaks, and receive the same amount of unpredictable 'good' fortune as the Cards. Good fortune and luck associated with the Cubs is an absurdity.

  4. I would not be surprised if the Dunn was acquired for the sole purpose that he's a Cub killer. Sometimes I think that's how certain franchises build their teams. "hmmm..what Cub killers are available?"

He was an All-Star with the Marlins before. There's still some time left, he could fade a bit and we could see an increase in his WHIP. I don't know is he on pace for the same amount of Walks and K's as his AS year? I don't see what's so shocking with him though, other than his really nice WHIP. I mean, we're comparing our guys to the Cards comparable guys, what's more shocking, Lohse, Wellemeyer and Looper....or Dempster? 6. You'd think these Japanese hitters would have their own batting coach in their entourage. Seriously, Kosuke can't expect Gerald Perry to fix his swing, he swings totally unlike other players. I'm not saying Kosuke is expecting Perry to help him, but he did mention it a little. It seems idiotic that you wouldn't drag a hitting instructor with you from Japan, who understands these batting styles.
  7. Awesome, the game is on FOX, I can watch this one. Woooo!! I love FOX Saturday baseball...Thank you FOX!! how many people did I just anger?
  8. Wait, he really did that? I didn't see the game. I'll check it out on mlb.tv later when it's archived. I didnt see a wave, but he did flip the bat in their direction Is that the opposite of mooning someone?
  9. Fox and WCIU games are the only ones I can watch. I'm in the minority, don't be racist against my kind.
  10. No, I believe that's fact.He sleeps on a special board for his back, and on at least one occasion he's missed an outing due to back spasms brought on by not having that board to sleep on. "They say he carved it himself from a bigger board"
  11. We won the game under these circumstances: -2 HRs by Jim Edmonds as a Cub -Scoreless inning by Howry 2 Ks -Walkoff hit by Henry Blanco Icing on the cake = Ludwick 0'fer
  12. He sleeps on a wood plank IIRC. Or is that urban legend?
  13. Gotta give some respect to Soriano today, we lose the game without that throw home.
  14. Lou just mentioned Wood wasn't available because his back is bothering him. Said not sure on status for tomorrow. Great.
  15. Aw yeah, just got home from work...let's rock these chumps! It's a good day so far, got me a Home Run Inn pizza cookin, and Cubs baseball.
  16. OK Cubs, it's time to stick a fork in these turkeys. BEAT THESE BUMS.
  17. Spreading interleague games throughout the year like that would make it seem like it wasn't even there, which would be great.
  18. I think the team would be fine if Ronny got the start at SS all weekend, if need be.

  20. Yea hes fine. Turns out hes human just like the rest of us. Probably pretty hot and muggy at the ballpark today. I noticed he didn't get into trouble until later.
  21. Yea hes fine. Thanks. Stupid Carlos Lee. Honestly, are we the only team in the division that didn't go out and get guys that absolutely murder our rivals? Good grief.
  22. I missed the game due to work. Saw the high score for both teams, just wanted to ask if everything is ok with Harden?
  23. I was talking to God last night, and I said something like "people who like bad sequels -- say, Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome for example -- deserve to have a little extra rain in their lives." Sorry bout that bro. Hey, that's a great, great movie. Better than this game anyway. \:D/
  24. Since I refuse to pay for cable tv, I get to watch Fox Saturday baseball, and games on WCIU. Out of that tiny few, this one's gonna get rained out possibly. Suck. edit: uh-oh, WCIU (er...locally its broadcast channel 69) just switched to a Coach re-run.
