  1. It's time to ruin this guy: http://www4.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/2013+American+Music+Awards+Arrivals+15EE8Gpns6Nl.jpg Make sure to strike out this guy: Kill em CUBS!!!
  2. Has there been a time since 1907 where the Cubs abandoned the pinstripes? I would hate losing pinstripes because it's something the Cubs pioneered, and certainly not a bad tradition to keep around. Plus I like the way pinstripes look.
  3. And suddenly, there's no doubt who I want to be the next manager. Sergio Romo? More like John Smith of the Federal Witness Protection Program.
  4. I really like how the Cubs are just taking whoever they want from other teams. Can't we just jack someone else for a good manager next?
  5. It seems too many people don't want to believe that there are many billionaires where owning a sports team is nothing more to them than a status symbol, and something to brag about with friends at cocktail parties.
  6. well it's still too early to rape and rob "when the sun goes down." as made famous by Cypress Hill
  7. Great. How much money are taxpayers gonna have to front to fix NOLA this time?
  8. that NFL.com commercial kicked ass
  9. Miley Cyrus = Party in the USA 3 or 4 times. It'll be a hoot.
  10. Very nice drive by the Colts
  11. Brett Favre made me giggle.
  12. Freeney definitely should not celibrate there
  13. Does Doritos really need 40 commercials?
  14. I definitely think that NO has a much better shot at winning than the Bears did. At least NO has a functioning (actually, elite) offense. IMHO, it's the adjustments that Manning and Co. do at halftime that breaks the back of an opponent. They just seem to outright destroy a team in the second half, but not necessarily in points. That Defense of theirs, while not the best in the league, is better than NO, and they always seem to make the right adjustments at halftime. All those 4th Q come back wins this year aren't luck induced.
  15. The Colts didn't destroy the Bears in points, but after the 1Q the game was firmly in the Colts control the rest of the way. Grossman got worse as the game went on and Indy's D was far and away better than the Bears. I think some Bears fans definitely watched a different SB than the rest of the world. I don't even remember the Colts being picked to win that SB by the end of the two-week lead up to the game. It seemed to me that a majority of 'experts and analysts' had convinced themselves that dome-team Indy couldn't beat the all-weather Bears outside in a torrential rainstorm. Indy also faced a hostile crowd at the damn game. I think that's the only time I've ever seen a SB team get booed taking the field on neutral ground. I'm sure the media will have the Saints winning this in a blowout by the end of next week. I'm just waiting to see the reasons this time. They can't use the Dome-team excuse. Maybe it'll be the humidity.
  16. Theriot needs to bat 8th. why? Because hes not that good? among regulars he led the team in both average and obp last year. if that's "not that good" then what are the rest of the players? better convincing argument. theriot is good in his own ways, and obviously has deficiencies as well. but to say that the guy who got on base more than every other player on the team last year "isn't that good" is just stupid. Ok, who do you think Theriot is a better hitter than for the 2009 season? Fukudome. The Theriot hate could be the most obnoxious thing on this board.
  17. That pic freaks me out. AJ alphabet is the guy in the middle right? No, AJ ran off like a bitch, that's him on the far right skulking away. Barrett is fighting Podsednik in this shot. Dude, the guy with the shades is AJs mirror soul image or the ghost of AJ or something.
  18. That pic freaks me out. AJ alphabet is the guy in the middle right?
  19. Bandwagon fans are a sports franchise best friend.
  20. Honestly, great moments of the regular season mean doodily squat.
  21. We need no less than 4 position spots revamped. SS, CF, RF and 1B. That's not quite blowing the team up, but it's also more than a minor tweak. With the uncertainties surrounding the sale of the Cubs, who the owner will be, and our increasing payroll, I doubt all those positions are going to be improved, if any. The really crummy thing about all this is now all offseason NSBB will convince themselves that this is just another 3 game statistical anamoly, standard deviation, what have you, and that things like human emotion and pressure are ludicrous intangibles that should be laughed off by the quasi-elite sabrheads.
  22. Heck yeah, that crowd played like crap.
  23. Depressing. Soriano walking back to the dugout with his head down after his first at bat. Dude needs to man the freak up. Losing on Thursday will pretty much end it.
  24. Losing Gallardo for virtually the entire season did not keep the Brewers from making the playoffs, he's not going to single handedly win it for them either. I can't believe we are talking about being worried about Brewers pitching when the 'real' Cubs hit the likes of unbeatable Sabathia and Sheets better than anyone else.
  25. We scored 2.7 rpg against Dodger pitching this year and still went 5-2 against them. We shouldn't be afraid to face any team in the NLDS this year.
