  1. Wuertz is also terrible Sadly, statisics would suggest otherwise. Prior to last night Wuertz had a 5.40 ERA and a 1.80 WHIP in 5 appearances since his demotion. Yeah, that is a great sample size there. Weurtz had a proven track record of "not being terrible". There is no point debating this. Weurtz is not terrible. Seriously. You know who else had a proven track record of "not being terrible"? Bob Howry. Exept for 2008 of course. The same could be said for Wuertz. The arguement that either of the haven't been terrible is wrong No, not really. Agree to disagree, I guess. No, there really is nothign to disagree about. Wuertz was not terrible in 2008. His demotion was based on bad outing he had vs. Cincy. He was actually lights out in May & June. Can we please operate with some facts here. Thanks. K

  4. wow. Sometimes, I love Lou. But when he says Howry is unlucky, it scares me. BOB HOWRY IS AWFUL!
  5. My little brother had ALL of them, excluding Harden. Fontenot, Wood, Z, ARam, DLee, Soto, Lou, Edmonds, Pie, Hill, Soriano, Lilly, Dempster, DeRo, Theriot, Kosuke, and Reed. Mom asked his what he wanted for graduation and like 1/2 of those were on his list. He even still has Nomar and Prior, but doesn't wear them.
  6. Well, with Harden v. Bush on the mound we will probably struggle. But my prediction will be... Harden goes 6, striking out everyone. Bush goes 4 2/3, 5 ER Cubs win 6-2 thanks to Bob Howry's terrible relief efforts.
  7. I'll get right to work on that list, but I'm worried that stickying it might be an innuendo. ;) go cubs! Are you suggesting when a Harden meets a Bush, sometimes things end up sticky... 8-[.... =D>
  8. That's not even an improvement on what we have right now. And it makes up worse on defense... not a good move
  9. For a 120 OPS+, I'd give a couple of decent minor leaguers. Ibanez would force Edmonds to the bench and give us a heck of a pinch hitter. I'm not convinced Edmonds will stay healthy all year. I agree with you...Even if Ibanez isn't playing real well this year the fact that we could get another left handed center fielder in case of a Edmonds injury. Ibanez is most definitely not a CF. He can barely play the corners. Kosuke would move to center and Ibanez would stand in right. Exactly. So why not keep the OF the way it is? Soriano in LF, Reed/Edmonds in center, and Kosuke/DeRo in RF. Above average defensive team. Soriano in LF, Kosuke/Reed in CF, and Ibanez/Kosuke in RF? Not near as pretty.
  10. For a 120 OPS+, I'd give a couple of decent minor leaguers. Ibanez would force Edmonds to the bench and give us a heck of a pinch hitter. I'm not convinced Edmonds will stay healthy all year. Fuku, Soriano, Edmonds, Reed, DeRo, Ward I just don't see a need for another outfielder, plus it would put Kosuke in CF.
  11. http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/8395270/Cubs-looking-at-lefty-hitters,-could-add-Ibanez?CMP=OTC-K9B140813162&ATT=3498 I will vote NO on this one. [-X
  12. Motherfunking yes. In I'm down. I need to let out some good expletives and we all know I can't do it here. Agreed. I'm in also. Chat name?
  13. Just saying, WTP doesn't count as home runs and usually results in an F-7,8 or 9 in the score card. Still only 2 HR's with 5-6 almosts
  14. Cubs win 6-4. And Lilly gives up the 2 bombs predicted earlier in the thread. A 2-run and a solo shot.
  15. He'll say it was for his wife. He will throw her under the bus just like he did in front of congress.
  16. Roger Clemens lied. He is in trouble.
  17. I don't like 11 pitchers as much as I do 12. At least until Marmol figures out what his deal is.
  18. Isn't it Casey? It would be ok, but just ok. He would be an ok backup for ARam at 3rd, but DeRo is my boy and wouldn't really like his playing time being depleted (although he doesn't see much time at 3rd) As much as I don't like Fontenot, I prefer him over trading for Casey and losing whatever it costs.
  19. Sexson?!? :-k Why? I agree. Sexson has no place on this team unless he replaces Ward. I don't envision that happening nor would I be in favor of it. I wouldn't be in favor of him replacing Ward. I would still say Sexson is a downgrade anywhere he is capable of playing.
  20. Sexson?!? :-k Why?
  21. i think you're mixed up. jason bay to the rays = hooray jason bay to the cards = bad no, i am not mixed up...the team that has always scared me in the division is the brewers bay to the cards...big deal Yes, it would be a big deal. They are only 4.5 back, and though I believe we can expand that to 6 or 8 games middle of August, I still don't want them upgrading OF. Ankiel, Ludwick, Schumaker, and Bay in the OF, and maybe sometimes Duncan. Along with all their pitchers that are hurt (though some won't come back 100%, if at all) I would much rather the Rays have him, not playing them the rest of the year. It will be the Bo Sox or Angels in the WS anyway...
