  1. STL's line-drive BABIP is probably like .850, don't even torture yourself like that I'd like to amend my previous estimate. According to this article, BABIP on linedrives is approximately .730. http://www.purplerow.com/2012/4/26/2978376/expected-babip-and-a-whole-lot-more
  2. At least the Cardinals would be putting up a fight late and down in the game.
  3. I'm just not going to get excited on hard hit balls anymore. It's not like the BABIP on line drives is .700 or anything.
  4. Or a Grimm away from looking to win the series tonight http://www.premiersportpsychology.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/half-full-glass.jpg Three meatballs away from being 14 games over .500. And the Mets away from being .500 exactly So what you're saying is that the baseball season is long and full of positive and negative [expletive]? Get your reason out of here.

  6. Lulz, only one reaction to the home run by Votto. I guess everyone is just sick of the Cubs consistently being the ones on the losing end of easy wins.
  7. Whelp, time to hope for a big late clutch hit, and Schwarber only occupies one ninth of the lineup. For the 45th straight game, I request that the rest of the offense get its [expletive] together.
  8. He smoked that ball. Sorry I'm not watching Yeah, hard hit up the middle, but right into the shift. Because we're not allowed to have seeing eye-singles or bloop doubles or the like. Even Coghlan's single should have been up the middle. Deflected off Leake and right to Frazier and was just barely safe. You know, selection bias and everything, but I've never seen a team be more punished for hard contact than the Cubs have all year.
  9. ...And now we're back to hard hit outs.
  10. Also, maybe we could pull some balls for home runs instead of flying out to deep center.
  11. Schwarber home runs aside, I wish the radio guys would stop talking about how many dongs fly out of GABP when we've seen half a dozen warning track shots in the past two games.
  12. Remember when we scored five runs in the first against the Cardinals and lost? It would be nice if that happened to the Reds today.
  13. Imagine, we wouldn't have won this amazing game if Montero hadn't gotten hurt.
  14. It bothers me that it seems like Rizzo and Bryant both look completely lost right now. At least Fowler is showing signs of life and Coughlan bounced back from a rough start to the season Pitchers are realizing that it's suicide to pitch Bryant inside, so they're throwing him outside, and Bryant hasn't adjusted yet.
  15. On the other hand, Bryant is making some ugly swings and seriously needs to tighten up his hitting profile.
  16. I loved seeing the thread reaction before I saw it on MLB.TV. THE SCHWARMACHINE!
  17. I've never seen a team swing through so many straight fastballs.
  18. Let's finally get through to the Reds' stellar bullpen of 5+ ERA relievers.
  19. Why don't the Cubs get dinky seeing-eye singles more often?
  20. I have never seen a team perform as poorly as the Cubs have against relievers with 6+ ERAs. Seriously, what the [expletive].
  21. I think Teagarden literally just had the worst AB in major league history.
  22. If the hitting staff wants to help turn this offense around, it needs to show the Cubs how to murder meatballs. So many times I've heard Ron say "Fouled away, but he had a good pitch to hit."
