  1. I don't see Edmonton making the playoffs. Columbus yes but not Edmonton. How are they going to get to 3rd in the Pacific? I doubt the WCs come from there as they both would probably come from the central LA, Anaheim, Calgary, and Vancouver will easily finish ahead of them. Plus their D pairings are one of the worst in the NHL.
  2. No real urgency if they are willing to match offer sheets though. I agree. His probably will get the reported 6.5 per year that his agent wanted. If I were Saad I would have taken the 4 million per for 2 years with the Hawks(I think that's where they would have settled) and then cashed in for a huge contract above 8 mill per in 2017
  3. I think Boston is an even bigger disaster
  4. And Saad still has not signed with CBJ.
  5. That was from HockeyBuzz that site is like the National Enquirer of hockey sites
  6. Yeah, right thing to do after not trading sharp last year. Default right thing to do. The two greatest words in the English language, de fault I love all the Monday morning QB from you involving Patrick Sharp. He is a season removed from his best as a Hawk, yet Stan should have traded him? Well, I will be polite and just say there isn't much reason for you to know anything about what I have posted in the past. But it is very inaccurate to call it monday morning QB when I've been hoping and calling for a Sharp trade for a very long time. Oh I have read enough of your posts in these threads to get a pretty good idea. Great, you have been calling for a Sharp trade for a very long time, you also hate Crawford's contract. Not really much to pat yourself on the back over.
  7. I don't think anyone really thought he would be gone at any point prior to Monday night. But he and or his agent got greedy, his agent got him paid though.

He is a season removed from his best as a Hawk, yet Stan should have traded him? As for the others who were saying they should have paid Saad whatever. It sucks losing Saad but he isn't worth 6.5 million with or without Sharp on the roster. If they would have kept Saad then you can also say goodbye to Seabrook, Krueger, Shaw at minimum after next season. Also the Cap could very well go down after next season with the Canadian dollar in bad shape. So you would be fine icing a team of Toews,Kane,Keith,Hammer,Hossa, Crawford and the Rockford Ice Hogs?
  9. Welp, he will probably be getting a lot of ice time next year. Or Rockford
  10. Lucic traded to Kings. WTF is Boston doing? As for Versteeg, Montreal is one of the best franchises to play for Edited: I see above it was BS about Versteeg. But maybe rap music is terrible in Montreal?
  11. Bruins traded Dougie Hamilton to Calgary for picks. They now have 5 picks in the first two rounds. Maybe they are in on the Sharp deal?
  12. And the Bears are in town the next day. Nice little doubleheader if you're willing to open up the wallet. I have Bears Rams tickets! I will go to Hawks-Blues for sure the night before. What a great double header.
  13. St Louis fans really hate Hawks fans. I went to a game there during the 2011-12 season, a guy had his one year old baby with him and he called me a pinko commie liberal for no reason other than that I was from the Chicago area. He told me his tax dollars living in some Illinois suburb of St Louis supported my lazy ass in Crook Co(His words). Of course he had a baby in his arm so I wasn't about to start an argument because I would look like the bad guy yelling at a guy with a kid in his arm. What a shithole that cow town is.
  14. [tweet] [/tweet] Sorry if language is against the rules, not sure how to edit the F words. But these tweets are hilarious.
  15. Oh man I can't wait until Blues fans see this in stores The kids over at HF boards are acting like someone ran over their puppy. I like it for no other reason it pisses off a lot of other fan bases. If you follow Drunk Patrick Kane on twitter, he's excellent about retweeting angry fans when it comes to stuff like this, and after playoff wins. If misery porn is your thing, he's got you covered. Ha! Nice! Thanks

  17. Lots of back to backs against the East this year. Pittsburgh was one in early January. Plus the Hawks play the Dead Wings twice in a day stretch in March. Looks like the Hawks will be visiting the White House in October as well.
  18. That is the main reason for my hatred of the shootout in hockey(although it kept the Kings out this year)
  19. Before the 1994 strike the NL had HFA in even years. After the strike the NL had it in odd years until 2003. What was funny to me is it screwed the Cardinals out of the 1985 and 1987 World Series, I believe the Twins in 1987 and 1991 won all their home games and lost all their road games.
  20. On the other hand weirdos get worked up over the AS game mattering and shootouts. I don't get worked up about the baseball ASG, as it still is better than what they did before(rotating year to year) but the shootout is beyond dumb. Would you get worked up if baseball decided to have a homerun derby if the game is tied at the end of 9 innings?
  21. NHL should go to a 3 point system. If the game ends in regulation the winner gets 3 points, the loser 0. If at the end of regulation the teams are tied, each team receives 1 point. Play OT 5 minutes like a regular hockey game for the 3rd point. If it is still tied, leave it as is, with each team only receiving 1 point.
  22. How is there a clear winner with shootouts? because one team wins and the other team loses By not playing hockey?
  23. How is there a clear winner with shootouts?
  24. Sure, but at least it's something resembling hockey. It's a better gimmick than the shootout, imo. What would be the main disadvantage of just calling a tie and splitting the two points? Because 'Muricans hate ties. There just has to be a "winner" and a 'loser' in a regular season game in October. Even if it means doing a coinflip(shootout) or playing 3 on 3.
  25. Looks like the NHL will vote on going to 3 on 3 OT for 5 minutes. I understand they want to eliminate the shootout as much as possible but this appears to be almost as big a gimmick as the shootout.
