  1. This is absurd [tweet] [/tweet] Yeah that seems nuts. Especially considering that everyone knows the Hawks need to deal him. I bet it just ends up being a first round pick.
  2. Yeah could have been a lot worse, but then again Bettman at the winter classic said closer to 73 million. Next year should be interesting if the Canadian dollar continues to remain at 75 cents on the dollar or worse.
  3. Salary Cap for 2015-16 is set at 71.4 million.
  4. I think the Rangers should try and get him. Yeah that would be a good fit. As long as he goes to the East or a crappy west team.
  5. By this time next week Sharp will be gone. I hear Washington wants him. If Troy Brouwer got a 1st, I would have to think the Hawks can at least get that.
  6. Yup. My seats in the 400 level if I don't leave by the 2 minute warning it takes about 30 minutes to get to the concourse level. The game vs the Ravens with that weather was scary back in 2013.
  7. Yeah I think something gets done before July 1st. Maybe a short term deal like 3 years that is very Blackhawk friendly and then he can hit the market and get paid a huge amount when he is still in his mid 20's
  8. I was able to get 4! Need one? I am not sure how to break up the pages in a PDF file though. Unless there are three other people here who want to go with you? Or you have 3 friends that want to go? I got thru about 12:05 and ticketmaster finally made the tickets available in PDF format. Just send me a PM with your email.
  9. i will try for parade tickets. I am not going but if anyone on here wants them I will send them if I can get thru on TM.
  10. Crawford's first year he was under .900, wasn't he? I think there's plenty of room for improvement from Raanta. He almost stole the series vs Vancouver in 2011 his first year. He had one piss poor series in 2012 vs Phoenix. As Kyle has pointed out very well, it's too big a risk to be messing around with a goaltender who is NOT overpaid.
  11. That's a bit of a strawman. I don't want to trade him because he's an above-average goalie with an appropriate salary and there's no need to create a hole there when there's plenty of quite tradeable, quite expendable assets in line ahead of him. Did *anybody* say he was elite and should be paid as such? He *is* being paid like an elite goalie. Anyone saying that he earns his salary is implying that he is elite. And largely, they are justifying it by pointing to his great run through part of the playoffs and ignoring the part where he was awful. He is paid like he is an elite goalie NOW. But in two years time, his salary will be very reasonable for an above average goalie. You HAVE to overpay in the begining especially after a Cup win in 2013. And what goalie isnt auful at times? The great Lundquist gave up 6 goals to a Tampa team who potted 1,4,3,1,1,0 goals vs the Hawks. Lets also not forget the Hawks split the Jennings trophy this year. I think people when Crawford gives up 3 or 4 goals in a game they blame him instead of the shotty defense that plagued the Hawks at times during the regular season and earlier in the playoffs
  12. I like it when you really dig your heels in on being obstinately wrong. This stuff is still going on? Your point is spot on in regards to the Crow hate. Steve Konrod made a great point. If you deal Crow, you better hope you get it right otherwise you aren't sniffing a Cup again with this core.
  13. The good thing with this being held at Soldier Field is they probably can recoup some of the costs by their concession sales which they would not have gotten at Grant Park.
  14. I have not gone to either one before and I am not going to this one as well. Just seems to much of a hassle and to me much of the crowd that goes to them are teenage girls. Probably like going to a Justin Beiber concert
  15. The hotel was by O'Hare, not downtown so they had farther to go. I blame #PoorGaryBettman for making the cup guy stay all the way out there. Oh that makes sense. I saw the picture of the cup in the hotel room, the carpet made it look like it was a Red Roof Inn from the 80's
  16. So anybody hear anything more why the Cup showed up late to the UC? I know the weather was terrible but it was in a Chicago hotel room since late morning. Usually it arrives in the 2nd period if the potential clinching team is within striking distance.
  17. I don't remember 2010 being as crazy by Wrigley but maybe the Cubs were on the road then? So not as many people in the neighborhood. In the 90's I remember it being crazy for the Bulls at least in the first championship years but in other neighborhoods of the city.
  18. Goalies are not quarterbacks. It is not the least bit close to a comparison. It is a crazy comparison. The Blackhawks have won because of their skaters, not their goalies. You win because of your ~12 best skaters. That couldn't be further from the truth. I made the goalie Qb comparison because the meatballs in this town love the backup QB and backup goalie. You made a terrible comparison. No it makes Crawford haters like you look real stupid after he pitches a shutout in a cup clinching game. Just like the meatheads pining for "dat McGowan" from 2013 I'm not going to argue the merits of Crawford the morning after a Cup win.
  20. Crawford got paid what Jimmy Howard got paid. It was an overpayment but in two years time it will seem like a bargain. The Hawks don't win this year or 2013 without him. Not calling you out in particular but what is it in this town with backup goalies and backup QB's?
  21. I'm hammered! Pissed I sold my tickets but I have friends who are season ticket holders who left the NW burbs at 430. Due to the flooding arrived at the end of the 1st. Go Hawks! Next to the Cubs winning the WS the Hawks are my favorite. Bears won when I was just shy of 9 years old and that was awesome but I love this and the party that will follow for the next week
  22. No go on the tickets. SRO is up over $1100 now. No thanks. Just watch at home with several beers and hopefully watch a celebration on home ice.
  23. Chris Kuc was on the score just now. He said he gets a vote, its 6 local media(Chi,Tb) and 6 national. He said most of the national guys probably only watch from the Conf Finals forward. In 2013 Kuc and the rest of the local media voted Crawford, but all of the national media voted Kane. This year he said he will go with Keith but he has no idea what the national media will do since Keith has not been on the score sheet much this round.
  24. If was so lucky to have tickets, I'd sell them and just watch at home or at a sports bar; although, not for the reason you said. The prices are just too good to pass up. If they were Cubs tickets to a World Series game I could see refusing to sell them. The Hawks won the Cup 2 years ago. They will still be a pretty good team for at least another 5 years. Plus there's no guarantee they even win. Yep that was my thinking as well. If this were the Cubs, i don't think I could part with them. If I get a SRO ticket I still get in the game tonight and I make 2K.
