  1. 2nd time through the lineup now. Time for the dong parade to begin.
  2. My deepest condolences CubmanPi. While I'm not the most active poster I can say that I am on this site nearly every day and I always enjoyed the game threads with Fred's stats. Fred was a big reason why I would put my name on the list for game thread starters each year even though I knew it'd sometimes be difficult for me to do with my schedule. In a weird way Fred's dedication to every stat, regular and crazy, in both the good times and the bad, inspired me to make time for Cubs game threads and I will miss all his wonderful posts, especially the obligatory Cubs W flag after wins. RIP Fred. This flag is for you. :flythew: Also, the renaming of the game thread forum is perfect and if there's going to be a tweet event to Len, let me know as I'm absolutely in.
  3. Super Cubs toyed with the Brewers for 6 innings before crushing them like a bug. The crushing continues in game two as the Super Cubs send Jason Hammel to the mound. He'll be going against this bum: http://cdn.fansided.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/80/files/2015/10/wily-peralta-mlb-cincinnati-reds-milwaukee-brewers.jpg And to put context to these pictures, that's Peralta looking to the sky why he silently wonders how he's ever going to get out our lineup of dongmasters. Meanwhile Hammel is letting the Brewers and everyone else know that "Yeah, I AM all THAT and a bag of chips" as he dominates their weak lineup once again. Cubs roll to another RD game... 8-2 as Rizzo, Bryant and Heyward all hit dongs. Go Cubs!!! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :flythew: :flythew:
  4. Yay J-Hey!! Cubs take three of four from the Giants and now take their amazing talents on the road to Wrigley Field North where the Cub fans will out number the Brewer fans 10 to 1. In game 1, the Cubs will send The Professor to the mound: Oops. No. That's not the ML leader in ERA and the reigning NL pitcher of the month. That would be this stud: Time for the Brewers to go to school and learn about the ways of the mighty, mighty changeup. As Kyle educates the lost souls that make up the Brewers lineup he'll be facing off against this fool: http://cdn.sheknows.com/articles/2012/05/man-candy-mondays-mark-paul-gosselaar-the-max.jpg Wait. No. That's not right either. It's this guy: Yes. There we go. See the intense look of learning on his face as he studies the professor in an effort to gain even a hint of the knowledge that Kyle possesses. Nonetheless he will not be saved by the bell and the Cubs lineup will feast on his meager offerings. Cubs win an easy one 8-1 as Rizzo hits two dongs, one of which goes back to back with Bryant, and J-Hey keeps up the good work with 3 more hits. Go Cubs!!! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :flythew:
  5. New day, new game But for reference, this was me after seal boy's throw: http://www.reactiongifs.com/r/2013/10/Chris-Rock-HUH-WTF.gif And this was me after the bunt play: http://i.imgur.com/q3iCWqE.jpg But then this was me after the game: Why? Let's see... (1) the Cubs are the best team in baseball, by a mile... (2)the Cardinals suck balls... (3) nothing else matters because 1 and 2. So we forget about yesterday because today is a new day and the Cubs magic number is 12!!! We get this guy back http://www.trbimg.com/img-57b35f0b/turbine/ct-cubs-assessing-options-for-john-lackey-20160816 And after he sinks his teeth into the Giants and our lineup dongs them into oblivion, Cueto will look like this http://ww4.hdnux.com/photos/50/65/62/10706087/3/1024x1024.jpg Cubs win this game 7-2. Javy and Bryant go deep. Go Cubs!!! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:
  6. Can we just play the Reds for the rest of the year... please??? I need to get this up now as I'm heading out and won't be back until well after midnight Chicago time so here goes. Cubs want to go into the all-star break on a big winning streak. The second of those wins comes against the hapless Reds once again. Lackey mows down the Reds lineup like he shoots deer from a tree stand. Zobrist and Contreras both go deep off Finnegan as Cubs roll again 7-2. Go Cubs!!! We Are Still Good!!! :flythew: :flythew: :flythew: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:
  7. We all know the Cubs have numerous players on the DL and now it seems NSB has placed it's one and only true stat man and leader in the clubhouse, Fred, on the 15 day DL as the game thread starter thread is sadly behind and he's nowhere to be found. Philosophizer75 is supposed to be up from what I can see but he may be on the DL as well as he hasn't started either of the last two games. Alas, as the next one on the list I shall step in and begin the winning streak that takes us through the break. For those doomsayers you need to know that this team is still quite good, they're still going to win the division, and they're still going to the playoffs... but dammit, I think I speak for all of us when I say it's time to win some horsefeathering ballgames!!! Cubs get fat off Reds pitching with long dongs all around and Hendricks throws a Maddox as the Cubs win 7-0. Go Cubs!!!! :flythew: :flythew: :flythew: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:
  8. Looks like Fred and philosophizer75 are MIA. I will take the next turn for game thread starter... which I hope won't be until after the All-Star break due to a long Cubs winning streak. Go Cubs and happy Jeimer Candelario day!
  9. So since it seems as though Fred is dead and the game thread starter thread has not been updated since Wednesday it looks as though philosophizer75 was supposed to start tonight's game but since Tim did it looks like philosophizer75 is up for tomorrow. All I know is I'm next after him, I'm drunk, and I'm pissed (watching this game on Fox giving me flashbacks to last year did NOT help my sobriety or my frustration level). I will wait to see if philosophizer75 starts tomorrows game. If he doesn't, I will.
  10. And a few others: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v404/cubscott/IMG_20160520_225451.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v404/cubscott/IMG_20160520_230404.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v404/cubscott/IMG_20160520_225726.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v404/cubscott/IMG_20160520_230702.jpg
  11. A few photos from last night (sorry, I'm not a great photographer to begin with and using my phone didn't help much either): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v404/cubscott/IMG_20160520_224532.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v404/cubscott/IMG_20160520_225249.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v404/cubscott/IMG_20160520_224937.jpg
  12. That was the way to get back on track Cubs. Now, let's keep it rollin! So for today's unfair match-up, we have this awesome lefty: http://image.dailynews.com/storyimage/LA/20151015/SPORTS/151019626/AR/0/AR-151019626.jpg&maxh=400&maxw=667 Meanwhile, the Giants send this to the mound: http://img.bleacherreport.net/img/slides/photos/003/309/674/hi-res-177286425_crop_north.jpg?w=630&h=420&q=75 That's Cain saying to himself, "Damn... do I really have to pitch to these dongmasters? Can't someone else take my turn?" The beatings continue... Cubs win this one 7-2 as Lester goes 7 and Rizzo and Russell both homer... twice. Go Cubs!!! :clapping: :flythew: :clapping: :flythew:
  13. On the train back to my hotel after the game. Great game to be at. Lots of Cubs fans in attendance. My wife and I were surrounded by Cubs fans, which was great, and the few Giant fans interspersed among us were very gracious and complimentary of the Cubs. Still bittersweet with the Heyward injury, but hopefully it's nothing super serious. I have a few pics from the game that I'll post soon and will get tomorrow's thread up as soon as possible. Go Cubs!!
