  1. They won on Wednesday night (here on West Coast). It's now Saturday night. I've watched the game completely through twice on DVR. I've re-watched the post-game stuff on both MLB and FOX1 again. I've watched the parade and the rally. I'm still moved to tears EVERY single time I see the final play, hear the final call, or hear that damn Eddie Vedder song. And don't get me started on that Nike commercial or Budweiser commercial. I'll be in Chicago a week from tonight and my first plan is to visit Wrigley Field where I'm sure I'll cry again. I don't really believe that major media, nor the fans of other teams, fully understand the depth and impact that this victory has had upon us Cub fans. It is STILL slowly sinking in.
  2. I posted a few times in the thread last night but it was too difficult to keep up since I had family with me as I watched so now I've completely read the entire thread, and cried a few more times in the process. Just a couple thoughts.. a co-worker today, who has zero interest in baseball, told me she watched the entire game last night and was riveted. She told me that she was really drawn to the Cubs because they seemed much more like a "team" and the players appeared to genuinely like each other and gave off the vibe of all being "BFF's". That is what I love most about this team. The fact that no one person has an ego above the others and that they all appreciate what each person brings to the table. That is what makes them special to me and that is what I will take away most from this championship. Lastly, it's all still too surreal. I was unable to really do any work today and I'm now home re-watching the game and post-game from last night in a much more relaxed manner. I look forward to my trip to Chicago in a week and a half as I can't wait to get pictures of the marquee and the AC sign. I only wish I could be there for the parade because that will be amazing. Thank you Tim for this site and thank you guys and gals for all your posts, good and bad. We now know how it feels to be fans of the greatest team in baseball!
  3. I'm loving this horsefeathers guys.... and I love all of you!!!!!!
  4. This. Is. It. After tonight, there will not be another meaningful baseball game until next April. No matter what, the season ends after this game ends. I love this team, I love what they've been able to accomplish and I know there are many great things still in their future, but damn it, I feel these Cubs are going to go out there tonight and win this motherfucking thing going away and send Chicago into a party that won't end for days! I want to see them bat-flip the dongs, stare down the K's from the mound, and scream their horsefeathering asses off at every opportunity all night tonight and then I want to watch as they, and the city of Chicago, celebrate the biggest horsefeathering sports win that any of us have ever seen or will likely ever see again!! Go you motherfucking Cubs!!!! Kick the Indians and their stupid mascots ass and let THEM become the team with the longest World Series winning drought!! Show the world that the Cubs are baseball's best team! Leave no doubt! PS - I love you guys! EDIT - And I haven't even started the REAL drinking yet!
  5. I'm supposed to be working today but can't do anything but read this board and deal with nerves so I've already told my boss I'm leaving early. And of course I had to wear a blue suit, white shirt and red & blue tie today. Go Cubs! Win this horsefeathers for Fred!
  6. We're in the World horsefeathering Series!!!! Kick ass and take names Cubs!
  7. As I posted in other places, I wish my dad had been able to see it. He was born three years after the Cubs last World Series and he passed three years before this one so he never got the chance to experience this at any point. However, I know he's watching from above and is probably hanging out with Ernie and Ron, two of his most favorite players, as they smile down on all of us. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v404/cubscott/Screenshot_20161023-101304.jpg
  8. Cubs in 3. In an unprecedented event the Indians wave the white flag (with a W) and surrender at the conclusion of the 3rd game after the Cubs outscore them 58 to 1 in the first three games and out-dong them 16 to 0.
  9. Shared this in the game thread but will share it here as well as it fits. I love you all and I love these Cubs! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v404/cubscott/Screenshot_20161023-101304.jpg
  10. Thanks for the suggestion. Here's a screenshot of my post from late last night. Might be hard to read. Sorry. I know many of us have these type of stories but I like that we can all share them knowing that each of us, in our own way, has stuck with this team throughout the good and the bad and that each of us can relate to the stories we share. Lastly, I just want to again thank Tim and everyone else who works to keep this place running. It's EASILY the least terrible faction of Cubs fans on the internet... by miles and miles... and it's been my home for all things Cubs since 2003. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v404/cubscott/Screenshot_20161023-101304.jpg
  11. Your account is probably private. I had to make mine public to share mine here. Can I make my account private again after sharing, or will it make the picture go away? Not sure I want my account public forever.
  12. Can someone tell me how I can share an instagram post here? Every time I try my preview says content unavailable.
  13. I got you buddy, just sent you a PM. (well I think I did, I don't see it in my outbox... either way I got you covered.) Thank you! Don't see a PM, but I appreciate it!
  14. Posted this is earlier in another thread but gonna add it here too: When the Cubs win this series I will gladly pay someone to get me a copy of the next days newspapers. I will be in Chicago the week before Thanksgiving and can certainly meet to pick it up, or if you prefer you can ship it to me at my expense.
  15. Hey guys, guess who gets to manage the 2017 NL All-Star team? Lol. Four more wins Cubs! This is so amazing!
  16. I still can't stop crying. So. Many. Emotions. I love all of you. Thank you to this Cub team and thank you to Jed and Theo for putting them together. 4 more to go!

  18. I know this board is going to crash in the 9th so I just want to say thank you again to all of you. I'm so overwhelmed at the moment.
