  1. Don't know if that number is above/below league average, but I love the fact that the Cubs have only had 5 games all year where they did not take at least one walk. Seems like that number used to be significantly higher in the past.. but that just could be my personal bias against the ol' Cubs way of swing hard and swing often.
  2. Winning good. Losing Bad. Let's keep this winning thing going. In today's match-up of the weak vs. the strong the douchebacks send something to the mound called a Rubby DeLaRosa: http://mediadownloads.mlb.com/mlbam/2015/04/14/images/mlbf_73077083_th_45.jpg He will meet up against the professor, who will charm the bats of the snakes with his masterful use of intellectual pitching: http://www.rantsports.com/mlb/files/2014/05/kyle-hendricks-chicago-cubs.jpg The Cubs complete the sweep and Baez goes deep... final score 6-3. #WeAreGood #LetsGo :clapping:
  3. I remember Gomez. I also remember Cey and nowadays I wonder how the hell that guy ever managed to play third base or hit the way he did. Dude had the craziest forearms I ever saw. Popeye forearms. Lol.
  4. *ahem* Madlock. Everyone forgets about Madlock. Three years doesn't count as stability. He was good, but not a fixture. he certainly wasn't a "hole" Ok, so maybe hole was a bad word, but definitely a position the Cubs had trouble getting a long term answer at. I'm too lazy (and too tired) to look it up, but I'm curious about how many 3B's the Cubs used after Santo and before acquiring Ramirez. I know it was a good number of them.
  5. Are you saying my prediction is a little low? How about 13-(-4)? Better?
  6. Between the graphics, the resolution and the Braves' uniforms, it took me WAY too long to realize that wasn't a Japanese baseball game, even with the big ol' logo. Yeah, little grainy, but it's actually Joe Panik with the Giants on his rehab assignment with the River Cats.
  7. Winning good, losing bad. More winning. More dongs. On this beautiful day for baseball, the douchebacks send this bum: http://www3.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Arizona+Diamondbacks+v+Colorado+Rockies+Game+nL4kmJAQnPMl.jpg up against this superhuman who is so amazingly awesome he gets three pictures: http://www.insidesocal.com/dodgers/files/2015/09/Jake-Arrieta-no-hitter.jpg http://ww2.hdnux.com/photos/40/51/36/8558477/5/628x471.jpg http://cbsnews1.cbsistatic.com/hub/i/r/2015/08/31/366fc351-4827-4dc7-9698-3633c685c931/thumbnail/620x350/4a14b8f11d9fd672bd5a9a1732754d39/ap33353936810.jpg The snakes have no chance against the other worldly stuff of Jake. Cubs make this guy http://i.ytimg.com/vi/x-K0eyooQhY/hqdefault.jpg their new team mascot and use his power to roll to another huge win... 8-0. #WeAreGood #LetsGo :clapping:
  8. I hate working during games like this and missing all the dongs. :banghead:
  9. This is good to hear. Been watching the Cubs since '82 and he solidified the 3B position that had been a hole for the team dating back to Santo. Always been a fan.
  10. It's only because King Kyle is out. Otherwise it would have been 9-1 (He would have taken away a solo home run by leaping above the basket.)
  11. Losing sucks. Losing the day before an off day sucks even worse. Winning rules so let's just win Cubs, ok? OK. It's some guy who obviously suffers from a deity complex and whom the douchebacks acquired from the Cubs in exchange for Miggy and his tweets: http://www.gannett-cdn.com/-mm-/b7fc4245b6622f73577ec9ec86d7563da3a1c16d/c=244-0-2996-2069&r=x404&c=534x401/local/-/media/2015/08/04/Phoenix/Phoenix/635742441311911405-AP-102060619925.jpg He will be matched up against the awesomeness that is this man: http://www.weei.com/sites/default/files/pictures/redsox/Lester-Jon%20Cubs%2007.06.15%20Jon%20Durr.jpg This is Lester's first start in September for the Cubs and with the playoffs in sight he will own this month (and the next) like nobody's business. Cubs roll the snakes 5-2. Lester pitches 7 solid innings and Rizzo and Bryant go back to back. #WeAreGood #LetsGo :clapping:
  12. Time to forget this loss with a few Firestone beers. Fred told me to go ahead and start Friday's game thread as it seems we're skipping sneaky since he's MIA. I'll look to start it either later tonight when I'm nice and drunk or tomorrow morning.
  13. After I defended Kris earlier too. :(
  14. Damn it! Drove from one office to the other and missed the KB dong. Let's win this thing.
  15. Give me 3 instances I have no dog in this fight, but I'll get it started w/ a game I was at: 1. Dan Norris, Tigers P, 2 run homer (1st ever AB), 19 August 2015. No dog either, but if my memory serves me correctly, I'm pretty sure the pitcher in the game before that went deep as well.
  16. JD: "Rizzo was the team mom today".. lol
  17. Hammel's not pitching anymore today I expect, not with the beef of Cincy's order up next inning With expanded pens, I definitely support this.
